NEW YORK -- Orlando Magic guard Steve Francis was suspended indefinitely by the NBA on Saturday for kicking a courtside photographer in the fourth quarter of the Magic's loss in Seattle on Friday night.

The NBA will investigate further before determining the length of the suspension. Former Chicago Bulls star Dennis Rodman was suspended for 11 games and fined $25,000 for kicking a courtside cameraman on Jan. 17, 1997.

Francis, who had 19 points for the Magic, denied kicking the man.

"He threw my legs down, man. That was it," Francis said Friday night. "No. Uh, uh. I don't know what happened."

The Magic played at Portland on Saturday night.

Word is that the Magic are not enamoured of him, and think that Jameer might be ready for prime time.

Stevie Franchise has the talent to be an HOF player, but cannot, will not, rise from the level of merely being a talented punk.

The NBA game is in large part mental. That's where Stevie has always fallen short. He's too worried about stats and respect and every other damn thing except winning.

The shoulder of the NBA highway is littered with talent.

I would say that I've lost all respect for Francis, but I've had none for him since he refused to play for the Grizzlies. You don't like the draft, go play in Europe.

The draft is so fundamental to giving teams a fighting shot against the Lakers and Knicks and Mavericks of the world, and pricks like Kobe, Francis, Danny Ferry, Baron Davis, etc. shit on this league when they try to weasel out of their commitments.

DANNY FERRY? Who did he not want to play for?

Ferry sat out a year and forced a trade to the Clippers for Ron Harper the next season... worked out pretty well for the Clips.

Franchise has the body and talent to dominate his position on both sides of the ball but he's all about iso's and clear outs and really lacks in the mental part of the game.

Van Gundy was the first coach to put him in a strict inside out system and he actually bought into more then i expeted. He was on the right path and slowly learning how to become a real point but now in orlando he's gone back to his old ways.

If im the orlando gm i seriously consider moving him if the right deal came along. Dwight Howard is the one they should be building around

NEW YORK -- Orlando Magic guard Steve Francis will be suspended for three games for kicking a courtside photographer last week.

The NBA initially suspended Francis indefinitely after he kicked a photographer in the fourth quarter of the Magic's loss in Seattle on March 18. After an investigation, the league settled on the three-game suspension Monday.

Francis began his suspension at Portland on Saturday and will sit out Orlando's next two games, both against the Charlotte Bobcats.
