The Spurs haven't opened the playoffs on the road since Duncan was a rookie in 1998. Back then, David Robinson (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?playerId=715) was their leading scorer, they played in the Alamodome, and Duncan's first postseason lasted just four games when they were ousted by Phoenix.

Meh, ESPN has lowered my expectations of them so far that I give them a pat on the back every time I see that they've spelled "Spurs" correctly.

at least, they have us winning the serie against the mavs (5 against 3).

http://proxy.espn.go.com/nba/playoffs/2009/matchup/_/teams/mavericks-spurs

EDIT: hey, it's 4-4. i could swear it was 5-3 in our favor few hours ago. maybe i'm wrong, but i thought Hollinger picked the spurs, and now he has the mavs. i could swear this spurs hater asshole changed it.

I believe we would have beat Utah in the 2nd round if Tim didn't sprain his ankle in that series. BTW, it was Danny Ainge who was the Suns head coach back then.

Yeah, Ainge. Anyway, he was outcoached bigtime in that series.

Utah was one hell of a team that year, and played damn well all year. The Spurs blew the first 2 games in Utah and had a chance to win both games, but once Utah had the 2-0 lead, it was pretty much over. Utah gave Chicago in best series in Finals too, they had so many chances to win that series, but came up a couple points short in a few games.

Hollinger is the same tool who predicted the Spurs would only win 48 games and they won 54 despite a host of injuries.

Yeah I was wondering what the fuck that douchebag was talking about. 98 was the last year we got ousted by the Jazz.

and to up the ante, the asshole said they were pretty much the only team that would probably give the Lakers a run for their money AFTER the fact that Ginobili was declared out for the season :bang

What a dickhead. He spends most of the season dogging on the Spurs only to "change" his mind after he knows we have no shot at beating LA :ihit

I don't know about Hollinger, but that quote originally came from an AP article. It's inaccuracy was exposed yesterday:

A co-worker of mine has a friend who works for ESPN. One time they where talking about sales and my co-worker said that he made almost a 300% profit on some things he sold from his store. The ESPN guy said its impossible to get a 300% profit, that there's no such thing, you can only get 100% profit...........

He was being serious......

thats how fucking stupid they are.

ESPN had a big internal debate a couple of years ago as to whether or not Tim Duncan was a "superstar". If that's not evidence enough that a large number of people there are morons, I don't know what is.
