I didn't even see the damn game, so I'm not bitter. But red herrings are nice, so don't even address the topic.
Spurs fans, do you think your team can beat the Lakers?

The Lakers would win, but for the Spurs to make it to the WCF with a hurt TD and no Manu would be an accomplishment.

what exactly is the point of this post? do you see us crowning the spurs champs anywhere on this forum?
Lets reverse the question: if the Hornets actually make the w.c finals, do you think they can bat the lakers? Of cours you dont, no reasonable person thinks they can...
Its the same with the Spurs. We are all hopefull, we will live and die with every basket made/missed and we wont stop believing that anything is possible once you get there... But I think any realistic spurs fan has to be worried about getting to the WCF, not wondering how we will beat the lakers.

You should only be worrying about two things:
1. A team called the Denver Nuggets
2. An injury-prone body part called Chandler's ankle
...and yes you are a troll

I think the Spurs can beat the Lakers.
I don't know if it will happen but I believe it can happen.
When you dropped the blanket statement about Spurs fans...you outed yourself as a troll.

This thread is an admittance from Hornets fans that they wont make the WCF. Way to be a fan--but I didn't expect anything less from a Hornets fan..

This is assuming the Lakers make it past the Blazers, which is also no guarantee.

I do! This is the NBA right? where anything can happen, where amazing happens!
And dont ever forget that the spurs have done it so many times already and still has Tim Duncan, the greatest Power Forward to ever play the game! I believe and die with my team! THE SAN ANTONIO SPURS! :flag::lobt2::lobt2::lobt2::lobt2::lobt2:

The Spurs will have to get a lot of things going right to make it to the WCF. And if they get those things going that well, then they can beat anybody. Steal a game in LA and watch that bunch start to shrink.
I'm calling Spurs over LA right now if they make it that far. That said, I'm also on record saying they won't beat the Mavs.

to be honest spurs would probably lose in 5 but make the games competitive. Spurs would need a completely healthy team to have a good shot. I also know the spurs would be a heck of a lot more competition for the lakes than the hornets-who would lose by 10-20 every game

Spurs could win.
Do I honestly think they will?
no.
But it could happen. They would need to be deadly with their shots. I see it as Golden State vs Dallas in the first round in 2007 type win if it where to happen. It would take something magical like that but it has happened before.
Bottom line, I wont count the Spurs out until they are actually OUT. The Spurs have been pronounced dead going on 4 or 5 seasons now and they just wont die.
They (Spurs) remind me of one of my favorite fantasy characters, Druss the Deathwalker. Those that know what book Im talking about can probably relate. Read "Druss the Legend" by David Gemell and you will understand what I mean.

1. Lakers will win.
2. Let's hope Portland can beat LA and Cavs will take care of Garnett-less Celtics.
3. I'm sure we can handle Portland and Cavs.

the only chance the Spurs would have a chance at beating them (if we get that far) would be for either Portland or Houston to physically pound LA and make it a 7 game series. Otherwise I just don't see anyone beating LA in the West.
