No, he's done a great job on Tim in the 2nd half. To get his points, Tim has had to hit 2 drop step hooks from 10 feet on the right, and 3 bankers with a hand in his face from the left. He hasn't had any easy points.

Amazing. We gave up offensive rebounds while playing big. Not a good sign. I look at it as effort.
No excuse for us to give up offensive rebounds while getting none, when we are playing big.
Then pop's plan for getting us out of a jam is going small.
Result: more offensive rebounds for dallas.
Offensive Rebounds and JJ Barea's penetration lost us this game.
I am very dissapointed in Tony Parker. When we started to let the game slip in the early 4th quarter, he started forcing the issue, and was the one mostly guarding Barea when he went awol. When he forced the issue, he clanked every time, and the offense became very disjointed.
We needed parker to play like a superstar. Tonight, he was only a star.
Duncan's magic kept this from being a blowout.
Amazing he never got to the line, against dallas, at home.

JJ's speed is killing the Spurs, they will need to figure out a way to slow him down or he'll end up being the "x-factor" of the series. Dare I say it? Hill on JJ?
Also, I think the 2 offensive fouls took Parker's driving abilities away, so he was less aggressive (No he didn't quit on the team as some have said.)

now I'm seeing Batum with a huge dunk in the latter game. What could've been.

finley got abused by j.howard. so his offense wasn't enough to offset all they points he gave up to howard on the defensive end. it's all about stops in the playoffs not outscoring folks.
No one was expecting Finley to slow down Howard. All of us knew that. Pop should have switched Bowen onto Howard and Parker on Terry. Then you have Finley guarding Kidd or Terry if Parker takes Barea.

I thought Finley did a decent job on Howard. He kept him in front of him most the time but Howard can just rise above him for the shot.
I was more suprised by how easy Finley was able to get past Howard the few times he drove to the basket.

The fact is that without Manu our bench just sucks. Especially when Pop gives minutes to Bonner over Hill.

He didn't get "abused". He played him pretty aggressive. What he did was allow Josh to have the 3 point shot. I'm not sure if that was in the gameplan or what but it worked in the 1st half. Then Josh started hitting the 3's. But I had no problem with his defense. He even got a strip on Josh trying to drive in on him. Josh isn't a scrub. You aren't going to limit him to 2 points. All you can do is hope he falls in love with his jumper and keeps chucking them up.

He played aggressive. He left it all out there tonight. I'm glad to see he's ready for the post season.

Finley's individual defense was very very good. Too bad his team defense sucked ass, and the rotations had many guys out of position.

I think our bench would be okay if it was
PG Hill
SG Finley
SF Udoka
PF Bonner
C Thomas
that's two savvy vets (Finley & Thomas), two energy guys (Hill & Udoka) and two shooters (Finley & Bonner).
they wouldn't be great, but as long as they could hold the lead...

I never thought we'd lose with Dirk, Terry, and Kidd having subpar games.
We got beat by Barea, Bass, and Dampier.

Man Rockets look awesome.
I know I am not supposed to like them because of the old days and that series did hurt, but I like the make up of this Rockets team with out McGrady. They all seem to be good guys and play hard. Also, I have a soft spot for any team with a gutsy Argentinian player.

That's at least expected. He goes in the same group as Dirk, Terry, and Kidd in terms of who can hurt us. But at least Finley nearly matched Howard's output.
No one could match Barea, Bass, and Damp though.
:lol
Idiot. There is no scenario, barring major injury, under which the Spurs get swept. Lose the series, yes, get swept, no, not even if your beloved Barea plays like he did tonight every night.
im not the idiot. your fellow fans agree with me.
i said if Barea can somewhat neutralize Parker like he did tonight it will be a sweep. How will it not be? Unless Tim Duncan goes for a superhuman effort every single night. Dont think your "4 rings" and championship experience alone will save you from embarassment. you still have to come to play

Two no-names who had career nights..no big deal here...the Spurs lost Game 1 in 2003, 2005, and 2007 and we all saw how those years turned out.
Series' are best of 7.
JJ and Bass didn't have career nights, VAJ... :lol:lol:lol

I was at the game last night.
My thoughts:
First of all there were alot of Mav fans. I couldn't believe it. I assume its the same in Dallas though when it comes to Spur fans. The cities are close to one another so makes sense.
Tony Parker did not bring his A game at all. He was getting to the basket really easy in the first half, but in the second half he was so tired. I'll give credit to the Mav's defense, but I didn't see anything that TP can't overcome.
He basically played the whole 3rd quarter. He looked very tired in the 4th quarter. We need him to play like a superstar if we want a chance to go deep in the playoffs.
And I don't know why, but the Mavs bring it against us. I don't know what it is, but they play like they've been the 8 time champs and ain't nobody beating them. They always bring thier A game and the Mavs that we have seen against the Warriors and Heat completly disappear. All I can do is laugh because it's just so wierd. I wonder why they choke so bad against other teams. They should kick other team's ass. They were built to beat us, but noone else?

There's no denying the Spurs played well, offensively at least. The key was the 9-0 (or whatever it was) run by Dallas in the 4th quarter.

Or being outscored by 7 points in the 2nd quarter, 4 in the 3rd, and 8 in the 4th, topped off by allowing the Mavs to shoot 53.8% for the game. Yikes indeed.

dallas is going to feast on the spurs again Monday and go up 2-0. the end is near. Duncan is getting old and eve was never that pretty. I am going to be in SA with my mavs gear on. I will be the guy on the third row with the Dirk Jersey on and the sign that says "Duncan is gay".

Good luck with that. He's got an honors degree in psychology but I'm sure you're going to be able to get in his head.

Good point...nothing to be concerned about...
Spurs killed it from the 3 pt line
Mavs sucked from the 3 pt line
Dirk and Terry were below avg
Spurs had a big lead early
Spurs only turned it over 9 times
Yet the Mavs won easily in the end... :downspin:

Look to SPURS to make slight adjustments but keep the same game plan. And in the end spurs will come out on top.......

I would like to see pop make a slight lineup adjustment by putting this lineup in the game to start.
TD,DG,TP,MF,RMJ. I think that would be a unstoppable lineup for the SPURS and play them almost all game...
