I was thinking the same thing. Hill has long arms and can get over Barea, too bad POP dosent want to play Hill which is a stupid decision IMO.

and it's not like barea, or antoine wright, or brand bass have all sorts of playoff experience, yet they're getting playing time. seriously, what happened to the "george hill can help us THIS year" talk from pop? hill can give us a different look on defense, and offense.

I think Chalmers would be getting playing time...

Even Chalmers would be warming the bench on Pop's team. Chalmers could be effective as could Hill but Pop's constant need to play veterans over rookies hurts. :depressed

Man if Parker can't contain Barea then we don't deserve to win this series. Barea is not a guy you gameplan for. He played out of his mind. He's had about 5 or 6 games like this this season. Just keep playing Dirk and JET like they did and they should be okay.

Pop has got to get the stick out of his stubborn ass and play Hill. When Tp goes out who is to guard Barea? Even when TP is in having him being the only one on the floor to guard the little midget is overexerting him and wearing him down for the offensive end.

Pop!!! dammit!!! Play Hill!!! There is a reason you draft players you know.

04-18-2009, 09:48 PM
Hill could definitely help defend against JJB or JET, but what happens in those situations where both on are the court together? Parker is going to have to step up his defense as well, and maybe see some Hill at the 2 instead of Finley or Udoka, although Finley played great tonight.

wow, some of you guys are idiots..

Mario Chalmers wouldn't be playing, and he isn't significantly better than Hill at all..he's had the chance to start from the beginning, and he NEVER has to be the primary ball handler in Miami's system..have you guys actually watched Chalmers play? he barely handles the ball..

Chomag

This really doesn't matter. Chalmers would be DNP as well. So brining this up is a bit of a moot point.

Phil jackson isnt afraid to play younger players. if he were our coach, we'd have won this game. the last 6 weeks ahve proven that

Phil gives Farmar a good amount of minutes so im guessing he would give hill some minutes.

If Manu were on the roster he might not even be an option. If I give him minutes I don't make him the focal point of the offense.

Its Farmar's third year in the league so uh, bad comparison.

Hill could be a secret weapon for you guys in this series. He's the only Spur capable of sticking with JET and JJB. Maybe Pop is just waiting for the right moment to unleash him :lol

Bowen can stick with Jet. Parker should be able to stick with Barea but was getting screened off and the defensive rotations were either late or non-existent.

I wonder if that's the secret reason for Pop shutting Hill down this season. I remember Kori saying he doesn't approve of that kind of stuff from his players.

Bowen on Terry was fine..

we just need Hill to play in general..he's pure energy on both sides..

It looks like you got pinked for starting duplicate threads instead of posting in one with the same subject. Just a guess.

Pop is willing to play Stoudemire and Van Exel in the playoffs (when they sucked) but can't bring himself to play Hill (who could help out a lot this year). Makes no damn sense.

Perhaps the talent drain from the bench and FO have take away all the guys who would have the nerve to question Pop? Do they still have a coach who will slap Pop upside the head and tell him to start Hill and bench Bonnar?

TampaDude
04-18-2009, 10:31 PM
The answer is obvious: Pop knows that without Ginobili, the Spurs have no chance to win the title this year, so he's trying to play the least amount of games possible so as to minimize chances for injury and give his players more rest. Mavs in 4. CIA Pop.

Earlier in the year Hill outplayed Rose. So if given playing time he can have similar success as Rose with backup minutes. I believe Hill needs to play in this series. No Doubt! :bang :flag:

it's just so sad..

can Hill really play worse than Bonner, Udoka, and Thomas played tonight?..

I've got absolutely NO CLUE WHATSOEVER what Pop is thinking by not playing Hill. I mean, the kid probably isn't going to come in and play like an All-Star, but he will definitely come in and provide a spark on defense, if anything. He will get what he can on offense.

Pop is....and I never wanted to say this....STUPID.

This rookie bull that Pop is pullin has got to stop. Hill has been ballin since his balls dropped. No excuses for not playing one of our best on ball defenders when we are getting slashed by a Puerto Rican Dwarf.

Parker and Mason got schooled by Barea. It's sad, very sad.

Couldn't believe Pop's response to JJ "who?" Barea running all over Tony. Ime first then Roger Mason. Why in the world would you limit your options in not playing George Hill. Thought Pop like matching up and defense. Hard to figure out this one .
