I had reserved my opinion on this till I saw Nazr play for a while, and after seeing him I would take Malik over him anyday.

do you work at his business?

LOL never mind, I was in Malik defense mode.

I thought Nazr wasn't supposed to get his shot blocked back into his face, have rebounds bounce off his finger tips, or make silly fouls and turnovers...He looks to have almost the exact same flaws as Malik without the hustle...Malik's excuse for eating his own shot was his height...what's Nazr's? He's eaten at least 3 of his own shots today...

wow....after a few weeks with the Spurs ...and you're already making this decision.

Sigh.

eehhhh.....to each his own.

No, I just think Malik brought more aggressiveness to the team than Nazr has so far. Don't get me wrong, I would still rather have Nazr than Rasho.

Why bring Rasho into this equation?

narz has 2 fouls today
in 15 minutes
he would foul out in 48 minutes but most bigs would foul at if they play 48 minutes a game

Because it's always a great idea to trade proven veterans and take on projects who need time to adapt to the team in the middle of a title run.

Pistons weren't already the best team in the NBA when they did that trade. In fact they sucked before making it. It was a signifigant upgrade...

And Rasheed>Nazr.

Jeezus fucking Christ, you people are hard to please. He's got 11/6 in 15 minutes. Detroit would have been dunking all over Rose's 6'5" ass.

I don't agree with this topic. Nazr seems to be a good player, not that Malik wasn't, but he has the height that Malik lacked.

I expect Nazr to become our starting center next season. And I like his offensive rebounding abilities.

Yeah? Malik had 11 and 6 against the Heat last night in 18 minutes...

I see your point though...Detroit hasn't gotten a single dunk on us today.

exactly, Nazr Mohammed had a solid game today in only 21 minutes.

Damn, I cant wait to see what he does with 28 mins.

This kid is a hell of a player, and will be even better once he gets 100% and more minutes.

IMO, I dont think hell get the starting job this year, but next year, hes a virtual lock, san injuries of course.

True. Except for the fact that Rose probably wouldn't have left the bench.

But I guess having Rose rot on the bench is better than picking up a player who can shore up the team's rotations and be a usable backup at the 5.

Nazr is a player who filled a definite need in our lineup. Rose just filled a chair on the bench. I love Malik, but the fact is that he wasn't going to be utilized as long as he was a Spur.

The trade happened and I think the Spurs are better for it. Malik is probably better off as well. Whott, and probably Spurgal, are the only one's still crying over it.

I've seen a lot of people eat shots against the Piston frontcourt.

Damn, Nazr had his best game in a Spurs uniform today, stepped in for an injured Tim Duncan and had 13 and 8 against the Wallace Boys, was an un-Spur like 5-6 from the line (and one turnover), and Whott bitches.

Whott,

1. rose ain't coming back
2. if he were here he might have been lucky to give us 6 and 5

nazr is an offensive rebounding machine
better dunking putback ability than rasho,
however is less explosive than malik
more explosive than rasho
still somewhat slower than malik
but several inches taller than malik
fouls as much as malik
turns it over less than malik
doesnt hold the ball and try to ball fake like malik
shoots free throws worse than malik

they're obviously pretty balanced, the height is the reason he's on our team now, and he's filling in perfectly as a backup center, which malik could never really do well defensively

Did you guys even watch today's game? Nazr hustled in my opinion, to say he didnt is bull....he was tearin those rebounds down
Nazr was like awww i thought it gonbe heman

I think Nazr is doing well. He seems like a good guy. No one will ever replace Malik for me, but I'm happy with our aquisition. Too bad we couldn't have kept Malik and just added Nazr.
