first all, nice to see bonner step it up, but make no mistake it is still a very average game for a starting player on a playoff team- 9 pts 7 reb.

i'm pretty convinced that the starting lineup would stay the same unless we are in a very desperate situation where we are down 2 to 3 games in a series. but after watching them play every game this season, i still have not figured out why gooden's role on this team is so limited "15 mpg". when we first signed him, he was getting accustomed to the team, but ever since april, his defense has vastly improved, and has been nothing short of amazing whenever he is on the court. He produces so much in his limited minutes that i feel like he really deserves to be on the court at least for 25 mpg.

even in his post game interview today, he even said it himself that he only gets limited playing time and a limited role on this team. i really feel his play warrants him for some increased time on the floor, since i noticed that he is probably behind both bonner and thomas in the big man rotation.

Um..the dude was possibly seriously injured during the game. Could be a ruptured spleen. He was spitting blood. Hard to play a guy when he's like that.

i could see that bonner space the floor well, but gooden has a very above average mid range game for a post player too. And with the few glimpse of Duncan and Gooden on the court the same time this season, i would say they were a pretty successful combo.

his playing time is pretty much set for 15 mpg as far as i can see. not just from tonight's game.

Uh, did you miss the "spitting blood" part?!

Pop has always had an issue throwing someone into a game that doesn't have the system down pat. Maybe Drew doesn't have it all down to where Pop is comfortable playing him for more than 15 MPG.

1.He's the main sub for Duncan, so there will no big drop on offense.
2. Second half Dallas went small ball
3. He got hurt and was spitting blood

and i feel that we will need Gooden even more if we get past Dallas (which i think we would in 6 games). Dallas is probably one of the softer team in the West, so i think the match up bodes pretty well for Bonner. But Denver is a very physical team, after watching them play a few times this season, and judging by the games against the Laker, Matt Bonner absolutely got manhandled out there by the Laker frontcourt, and one of the game Andrew Bynum wasn't even playing. But as much as i love Thomas toughness, i think Thomas is probably the weakest when it comes to Offenese, and he doesn't really match up that well with the Lakers height neither. If you were wondering why i was talking about Lakers, its because i'm pretty sure Spurs even without Ginobili could beat both Dallas or the Nuggets in the playoff.

yeah, i also thinks that the reason, but he does seem pretty comfortable out there.

+1 I just hope that refs will let Thomas play physical against Denver and Lakers. Otherwise, he'll graduate each game.

His offense has helped the second team keep some of the impact lost with Manu. Bonner also plays better defense for the time being.

well, it been a while now that i been hoping for a increased role for Gooden, since seriously, i think there's no doubt that he's our best big man to compliment Duncan, especially against some of the other playoff team. But i just don't see a increased role in him "EVEN THOUGH I THINK HIS PLAY SHOULD WARRANT HIM MORE PLAYING TIME", i just don't see pop doing it.

I hope his fall was minor...this guy is going to be a net plus for us.
