...before they fired Gregg Poppovich?

Seeing as Cleveland just released Paul Silas, a very well renowned and respected coach in this league, after the Cavs dropped 9 out of their last 12 games...

How bad do you think the Spurs would have to do before the front office would bite the bullet and can the guy who has helped orchestrate 2 championships and numerous other title contending teams?

hmmm, 50? I dunno, maybe if Pop attacked Duncan with a machete or something.

Or if he was arrested for peddling exstacy or some such shit.

I think Pop would resign before it ever got bad enough to fire him.

I don't know. I don't see Poppovich ever getting fired, unless some drastic shit happens and the chances of that I'd say are pretty slim to none.

I think Pop will end up in that Jerry Sloan realm, where he will have the right to determine for himself how to best handle a situation and will be given the benefit of the doubt for as long as he continues to coach.

I'm with the bandwagon on this one.

I'm doubting the Spurs would ever actually do bad enough to demand a coaching switch, which probably means that Pop will decide what time is best for him to retire. Hopefully, that time will come after a successful season, preferrably after the Spurs have earned him a couple more rings. He'll step down, the torch will be passed, and eventually his retired business jacket will hang in the rafters next to the sparkling jerseys. :lol

However, in the hypothetical hell that is this post, I'm betting that anymore than a 6-game skid or a significant drop under .500, with this same talent, would probably have the Office rustling a few papers. Whether or not they would pull the trigger, however, would be the big question.

Pop will be fired when Malik owns the Spurs.

Any chance Malik would take over coaching duties then?
