I've been giving Dallas all kinds of respect tonight, Bump...check out the Props Mavs thread. I only started in on this because a lot of the Mavs fans were talking shit. 04-23-2009, 10:41 PM
Big deal. It's 2-1. Duncan only played 15 minutes. No starter played over 20 minutes except Parker who played 21. Pop knew the guys' energy sucked and they missed tons of shots. The game was out of reach quickly. Props to Mavs for showing up.
This is still a series. We beat you last game by 21 points. So, what's the big deal? Win the series and then talk. Either way, it will be difficult for either team to get out of round 2. Spurs because we are without Manu. And, I don't know what the Mav's excuse will be.
DPG21920

It's only a jab at the "CIA Pop" or "Referees hate us" fans. The Suns fans who think the world is out to collude against the Suns and that whomever the Suns coach happens to be loses regular season games intentionally because it somehow makes them a better playoff team bugs me just as much if not more because I don't want the team I cheer for to have the excuse, "We're losing now so we can win later."
Let's face it. This Spurs team will be lucky to get out of the first round. We don't have the chemistry nor the swagger to play championship basketball. The guys just look content and they have a look on their faces that say " what the fuck? We've got four rings anyways". Are they going away from the game this early? Sad to say but for the second straight year, we are a healthy Manu away from winning a championship. Still :flag:

Your conspiracy theories are fucking retarded. Add to it that you're the only thinking this bullshit and you'll quickly realize how whacked out you are.
Why, in the name of all that's Holy, would the Spurs tank a playoff game when the series is tied 1-1 and knowing that the Mavs would be all but finished if they lost tonight?

the Spurs are notorious for getting blown out in the playoffs ( see: last year against the Suns game 4, in 2005 games 3 and 4 against the Pistons, last year against the Hornets in games 1 and 2, and many more ) . and we threw in the towel much earlier against the Mavs yesterday, so it pretty much balances out with the other games . what the mavs did yesterday wasn't anything unprecedented . and it wouldn't be unprecedented if the Spurs beat them tomorrow . they've been there, done that . Mavs have been there and not done anything .

What's amazing about the way the Mavs have been playing lately is they've done it without key players such as Jerry Stackhouse and Devean George. We're talking about a guy who can give you 20 points off the bench in Stackhouse, and a good defender and three point shooter in George. You really have to admire the job Carlisle and the coaching staff has done despite these injuries.

seeing as the Mavs are a 6 seed, even if the Spurs come back and win, the Mavs wouldnt be chokers. If they win, then the Spurs would be chokers as the 3 seed, though.
still, when my team makes the playoffs, i dont care who we beat, i just want them to win 16 games. i am not satisfied with just ending one season...I want them to end 3 seasons...and then let the 4th team watch them celebrate.
unfortunately, father time, injuries, and unfortunate roster decisions have set us back this year. i feel if the chips fall just right, we will have a very bright future.
chips: Tiago Splitter, Ian Mahimni, James, Gist, Drew Gooden, Marcus Williams, Malik Hairston, George Hill, Roger Mason, Viktor Sanikidze, Robertas Jaktovas (or is it Javtokas), and three 2nd round draft pics.......perhaps Pops Mensah Bonshu, Ime Udoka

umm ... how would the Spurs be chokers ? w/o Manu this team is arguably the worst team to make the playoffs in the west . not a lot of people, probably a majority, thought they could beat the Mavs before the series started .
the 3rd seed means nothing . it misrepresents the Spurs since they got it w/ the help of Ginobili . and the Mavs having the 6th seed actually misrepresents them because they started playing up to their potential the last few weeks of the reg. season . the way i see it is if the Mavs lose they are the chokers . well ... let me correct myself ... the Mavs are already notorious chokers , so they'd just continue being what they are . :p:

Pretty much since Robinson retired, he wasn't the 2nd best player this season 'cause he played injured all season but remember that not too long ago (last season), while he was still healthy, he was the one carrying the Spurs.
