I looks like “Machete” will soon be sliced onto more than a single reel!

The unexpectedly deadly day laborer first introduced in my favorite mock “Grindhouse” trailer will now serve as the title character in a feature expected to start shooting in June.

Danny Trejo, who played the title character in the pretend trailer, returns to headline the motion picture.

Robert Rodriguez, who created the trailer, wrote the feature's script and will co-direct with longtime editor Ethan Maniquis.

Variety has the premise:


Machete is a Mexican ex-Federale with a gift for wielding a blade, who hides out as a day laborer, who is double-crossed by a corrupt state senator.

Will "Lost" star Jeff Fahey reprise his role as the state senator?

I think the Predator reboot is a go, cleverly titled Predators. They both make big budget b movies, basically. I would be happy to never hear dialogue tarantino wrote ever again. Maybe it's just too clever for me.
