Rose can have a great game tonight but one game won't make the Spurs regret that they traded him. Now if he has great games ALL THE TIME...then the Spurs might regret what they did......maybe. Just maybe.

Spurs will win tonight.

Thomas is violating Barry out there. That's no big surprise, though.

Good to see Malik slapping hands and saying hello to everyone before the tipoff. Noticed that Tony went right at him, with good effect. When you're 6'5", guards can attack you and shoot over the top.

LOL. Whott, I gotta give you points on your persistence and patience with Barry. He is bricking shot after shot of 3 pointers all season long, and yet, here you are 60 some games into the season still defending him and still hoping for the best!

I honestly hope you turn out to be right on this one and that the rest of the forum is wrong when we call him "brick barry" :)

whottt
03-21-2005, 08:11 PM
1Parker...he's shooting 340% from 3...that's better than Jack shot when we won the title.

Compared most other players he's not shooting that badly...

I'll judge him after the playoffs.

He's gotten a lot of bricks out of his system so I expect better performance in the playoffs.

Plus I still think he does other things well.

And what Parker's problem from 3 this year anyway? He's shooting about 60% off his career 3 average...

Hook Dem
03-21-2005, 08:12 PM
We know Barry is capable because of past evidence but only Barry can solve this slump. Lets hope he comes out of it before playoff time.

At least Tony defends and assists. Tony wasn't brought to SA just for his shooting. Regardless, I read all your rebuttles in the other threads, I'm not interested in starting another argument. I was just stating a compliment actually, Whott--that you are a very loyal fan to Barry:)

Thanks but loyalty has got nothing to do with it...seriously. I am just cutting the guy slack because I see he does other things well and other shooters have struggled their first year here. I also think Pop screwed with his head earlier in the season by yanking him when he was actually playing quite well and with some confidence.

Pop said that he was putting it down between Brown and Barry. Some people step up, and some wilt. Brown looks like he's beating up Brent, and taking his lunch money. This is the Devin from Nov, Dec, Jan. No more charity minutes for Brent, to "get him going". With Tim out, every player minute must be productive.

ChumpDumper

Stephon Marbury sure knows that Nazr isn't a shotblocker. He's going around those picks and going right at Nazr. Pretty much 9 of those 11 straight points were right over Nazr's face.

i dont see the game did the knicks changed their way of defending on him?
i'm sure they did because he didn't take a shot in the 2nd Q but made most of his assist... at least he helps other getting good positions i guess...

PS : i suck at predictions my friend don't you know that already :)

I didn't know. :)

I don't think the defense has changed much on Parker. I don't know what the problem is.

Well, here's a thought. All those, including myself, who argued that NASH is an MVP candidate, especially after the fact that the Suns could not win a game without him, looking at the Spurs lately, a strong argument can now be made that Tim Duncan should be a seriously contender. Spurs best record in the league wasn't because of our great bench or the great play of Tony and Manu...it was because of Tim.

well this team is made to allow TD to perform ...
that's what you do when you have such a talented player in your roster...
for Nash its a bit different IMO because he went to Phx and bang they win...
he's hurt and then they start losing again...
my point is that the spurs were made around duncan... Phx didn't build around Nash in the past few years...

Not to get too hippie on everyone, but I swear to God, I've noticed this pattern. When Timmy's on the court, there's this zen-like hive mentality that falls over the other guys. When he's not there, it just falls apart.

The Spurs are losing their legs out there around the end of the 3rd quarter in just about every game w/out Tim. When Tim is on the floor the game comes so much easier to everyone else because the opposing team's D will be focused on stopping Tim. This will screw us over come playoff time because we need all of our players to be fresh.
