great game. but the fact he's he was tired in 2nd half.
he still managed to be our best scorer with 12 points in 2nd half but you could see he was fucking tired. His missed FT attested that. when he's tired he always seem to miss them.
31 points in a half to just stay in the game.
43 points at 62 % and we still lose by 9. that's not good.
Anyway, great game TP. Thanks for the moment.

An epic scoring display by TP wasted...just like the epic display of 3s by Finley and Mason in Game 1 was wasted. Face it, though, outside of Duncan and Parker, the Spurs have no consistent scoring threat. They are a much weaker team than their 3rd seed would indicate. Without Manu to give TP some rest, the Spurs have no shot...none. NFW they win 3 straight against the Mavs. They are beaten.

Give the Mavs some credit in the second half for doing a much better job on Parker -- we still can't stop him, but he was "contained" in the second half. We did a much better job of denying him the ball, trapping him when he got it and not getting the same looks. It cost us on the 3-ball though, since Hill had two, Bowen had one and you guys had better looks from behind the arc.
I also thought Hollins did a great job when Damp went out with foul trouble. We've been able to get away with not sending a double at Duncan.

Because when Tony goes to the bench, the team production takes a complete nose dive. Players out of position, don't know what we're trying to run. You couldn't even say they didn't execute, because I don't even see Mason calling a play.
And to compound the problem, the coach decides that Matt Bonner is going to be the go to guy in the clutch with the season on the line... :depressed

and i can remember at least three-four times where he fed tim for an easy layup and tim was fouled (that's credited as an assist in europe).
I wasn't watching for it in particular, but I don't remember TP hitting tons of open guys who missed their shots...

He did. They kept clanking. He got 3 quick assists to Tim in the first half but no one else was making anything when he passed it out to the perimeter.
The Spurs like TP shooting 25+ times per game in the postseason (depending on the opponent). This year, that's more true than ever, but he did a good job dishing out too. His teammates just didn't come to play.
I wasn't watching for it in particular, but I don't remember TP hitting tons of open guys who missed their shots...
you're not totally wrong. he was more in scoring mode tonight. he fed a lot tim (resulting in FT) but wasn't assisting too much outside shooters (three or four pass for open shooters who missed i think).
but if tony sees the rim on his drive, he usually goes for the layup, not for the outside assist.
Agreed, i watched as he effortlessly dissected the mavs defense over and over again. The scary part is that he is only in his early 20s.

The last two games should be a signal to the FO that the supporting cast is that bad. Even with the surprise addition of Gooden late in the season, the supporting cast is worthless. Duncan and Parker play shitty in Game 3 and the Spurs get blown out. Duncan turns in 25, 10, & 7, TP plays at his best, and they still lose in Game 4. Sure, coaching decisions were a factor, but when you have that kind of production out of those two and with your opponent not really blowing up, there are some real problems.
Yes, Manu being available would result in a different series, but he isn't. I guess the Spurs are content to win enough in the regular season to make the playoffs and then after that who cares?

That is not exactly fair MB. Spurs made it to the WCF last year and Manu was hurt.
The Spurs tried to make some moves this year (Maggette, Camby, bringing in Drew...) and had to deal with another bad injury.
Lets see what the Spurs do in the off season over this year and the next before we accuse them of not caring.
