Oh shut it MED

We should feel happy about our boys in blue right now

Mavs started 2-7, had a 5 game losing streak, 4 game losing streak, looked like a 9th place team at times, looked like the sacrifice to Lakers in 1st round for most of the season after ASB.

They earned teh 6th seed, the Spurs earned the 3rd seed. We earned the right to play them and vice versa, and the boys in blue triumphed

NOBODY gonna bring me down right now!

Just be happy I'm actually quoting your tired musings. 13k posts of pedestrian ramblings. Keep it up, and it's probably good that your beloved Mavs are still in the hunt.

That's the only reason why the Lakers can beat the Jazz I think.

of course, the Fakers are gonna be the next prey for our boys in blue. Fin's posts generally make way more sense than those made by a pathetic canadian immigrant. immigrating to a second-class North American country is just like taking a trip in the trunk of a car, a trip is a trip though.

So god damn irrelevant you decided to respond to a Mavs fan in a Mavs related thread and start a thread about the Mavs yourself.

Go fuck yourself.

As a diehard Spurs fan there is nothing I can say but way to go Mavs. You totally outplayed the Spurs and it is really hard for me to say this but you DID OUTPLAY THE SPURS. Good luck guys as much as you are our rivals the Mavs proved something to me this series...they are not the chokers I thought they were. Good luck against Denver...

I like Dirk and Kidd is ok. But while I don't hate the Mavs like some Spurs fans do, Jason Terry makes it hard for me to like them. I even find Cuban amusing. It's just Terry.

Every team has one or two players that makes other fanbases hate their guts but wouldn't mind their contributions on their team.

The Mavericks aren't going to win the championship this year. Fucking Duh! Tell me something I don't know. I am enjoying watching my team play right now. You know what? The Mavs can't help that Manu was out. All they could do was deal with the things they had control over. They carried momentum into the playoffs, rebounded well, came out with energy, played great defense, made good adjustments, everyone contributed and they put good consistent team efforts together for four out of five games. That's way more than anyone can say for the Spurs, who could at very least have made a series out of it if they'd played with some heart or had any idea who was going to be on the floor at any given moment. The best team clearly won. Manu might have mitigated some of that, but the Mavs seem to have found the right time to peak, while the Spurs remain a train-wreck in every way. I hate Mark Cuban, but Carlisle did a great job and the Mavs played a good, clean series and won decisively. Good luck to the Mavs against Denver; it appears they're going to need a lot of it.

The Mavs did good tonight. They finally brought a little glory back to Dallas. It's been hard for Mavs' fans the past few years this first round series win helps. I know that Manu was hurt but I will take it. The Mavs and their fans should enjoy this because you never know how long it will last. I was surprised at the ending of the game. Were there a lot of Mavs fans at the game tonight? I heard a lot of cheering. I didn't know if it was for the Spurs or the Mavs.

very true but a first round series win does not get the choker label removed.

It's going to be hilarious watching JKidd and Howard combine to shoot 8 of 45 from 3 in the next series, and while JHo fades back into obscurity, Dirk remembers that he's a pansy who will never win a ring, and the Mavs get outted in 6.

Can't wait. :toast

this was a big win for Dallas. we hadnt been out of the first round in years, and the Spurs, even without Ginobili are no slouch. they have the experience and made it to the WCF last year. i think they would've beaten any other team except for LA and Denver in the playoffs. the Mavs have peaked at the right time

Again, congrats to Dallas, but I really hope the Mavs don't think that San Antonio was anything close to as good as Denver is. The Spurs had the potential to give anyone a series, but they didn't play up to it IMO. Credit is due the Mavs for much of that, but they've definitely got their work cut out for them. I think the Mavs should hope for a quick end to the Hornets and just put it all out there. This is likely the playoff run that they hoped for when they traded for Kidd.

Yep, there were a lot of years like that before Duncan came along. The rush of just advancing is a nice payoff sometimes, and should be savored.

exactly, our boys in blue won't allow Nuggets to pull the series to game 7 in Denver because we want to celebrate our victory at home rather than on road. so the Nuggets will at most survive to game 6, though we all want the Mavs to end this series as soon as possible.

the Nuggets are just like a vase that looks nice but easily breaks, even themselves thought seriously about rebuilding last summer. The trade of billups&dice/AI was considered an upgrade for pistons rather than Nuggets but it just turned out oppositely, AI had been sucking since getting traded to Detroit and led his team to a first round exit which they hadn't tasted for nearly a decade.

But I don't think Billups will continue to play great in the second round under Kidd's defense, Melo is an awesome player but not bound to beat Smokey one on one. The real concern is in the paint where they have a heap of decent players to use, though they are all above-average players. The rotation of Dirk/Damp/Bass obviously is not deep enough to cope with a troop of wolves even if they were tigers, we also need to add some depth to our rotation in paint. Hollins should be a good option IMHO, he played awesome in game 4 and his athletism can even outweight Kenyon Martin's.

Congrats mavs on making i out of the first round, but really this team reminds me on the Nets because they are happy to make the playoffs. If they win that will change.

Second, hopefully Nuggets will beat Dallas would love to see Kenyon Martin in WCF at least he didn't demand a trade, sorry Kidd you can't win this year:toast
