Bwahaha...good thread..

Coach Brown, Ferry, Spurs Org. exports....Team defense...slow-paced boring ass 77 point games with a lone-star team...reminds me of the Spurs in the mid 2000's....

I don't understand the Lebron hate. He's flashy, but he's a beast and is very good to his teammates, and relatively mature with all the hype surrounding him.
He could have been a team cancer, instead he became a legit franchise player and leader.

I seriously don't understand the resentment against him compared to the other prima donnas. He could have been really stupid like Amare, or really selfish like Kobe or a playoff ghost like Garnett. Instead he tries to deliver every night.

He's 24 and deserves to enjoy his basketball stardom.

I'm not a huge Lebron fan - but I'll always root for whoever plays against the Lakers! Besides, Lebron has stepped up and developed a more rounded game since the Cavs were swept by the Spurs. I think that was a BIG wakeup call for Lebron - he realized he wasn't as good as Timmy and he really wasn't ready for Prime Time.

And Danny Ferry and Mike Brown have done a great job in getting the right players around Lebron. The bottom line - the Cavs are playing like the Spurs of old - so what's not to like?

Kobe must be denied a Shaqless title. Fuck him. And Phil. Asterisk city for those two!

The Cavs winning makes 2007 look more impressive. It also helps the Spurs look impressive considering the Cavs basically stole all their personnel and strategy from San Antonio.

I am with you TimVP, I've been pro cavs for 2 reasons.

1. I don't want garnett to have another ring.
2. The team of the decade argument, and FTL.

Lebron deserves a championship anyhow, and a majority of laker fans don't deserve one.

It's not that I like the Cavs. Their azzhat pregame crap is definitely weak. This is 100% based on selfish Spurs fandom. Kobe wins a ring and then there's an argument that Kobe > Duncan. The Lakers win a ring and there's an argument this Lakers era > this Spurs era. And FTL.

The Cavs winning makes 2007 look more impressive. It also helps the Spurs look impressive considering the Cavs basically stole all their personnel and strategy from San Antonio.

Protecting the Spurs' legacy doesn't end with their season ending . . .

Exactly. Its not that Im a huge cavs fan, cuz im not, though I do like how lebron carries himself and don't mind any of the players on their team. Unlike the fakers-specifically kobe and phil who I kind of hate with a passion....yep i do. So for me it's whoever plays the lakes ill be rooting for (against all my stupid socal friends who love the lakes), and the teams with the best chances are the Nuggets and Cavs. BTW Houston will get swept if they beat portland. No doubt, swept! I'm hoping portland can come back somehow because they give the lakes a lot more problems than houston.

Its like this....

Mavs (from the fans on up to the ownership) are a bunch of fucking douche bags that dont know how to win gracefully. The only thing worse than a sore loser is a sore winner.

The Lakers, and especially their fans, are a bunch of self-entitled pricks, but definately not near as bad as the Mavericks in recent years. They still suck major fucking dick for their collusion bullshit trade.

The Celtics have Kevin "Anything is possible because I'm a fucking asshole" Garnett who is probably a bigger fucking assinine Douche Monger than any 4 players combined from either the Mavs or the Lakers.

So the only logical choice is the Cavs.

P.S. I dont know why but JJ Barea realy bothers the shit out of me. I like his game alot, Mavs got a good pick with him! There is just something about his personality or looks that makes me want to fucking kick his teeth in. I swear on my mother and fathers graves its not because he torched the Spurs.... The cavs winning creates an opportunity for the destruction of Kobe's legacy, along with a serious mind fuck ala mav's 07 from which the Lakers won't ever recover from. The Cavs are the best bet to prevent Boston or the Lakers from winning, so I'm on board. I'm not sure I could even watch another Laker-Celtics Finals, since one of them would have to win. Well I don't think they can without him really, but I think it's already been established he needed A LOT of help to win one. Ray Allen, Paul Pierce...and hell, Rondo may already be the best player on that team.

The way I look at it, KG missing the playoffs 2 or 3 years in a row pretty much removes all doubt that KG wasn't really a team carrier.

Well there are two ways of looking at that...

#1. If not for the Lakers, Tim Duncan might have that elusive repeat, in fact he might have two of them.

#2. He pretty much the consensus choice as the greatest PF of all time by anyone considered an authority on the game while KG is the guy that couldn't get out of the first round for 8 years, then finally did(with help) and choked, then missed the playoffs 2 or 3 years in a row, then got traded to a team with at least two other HOF'ers on it and an assload of financial resources....

I mean c'mon, do you seriously think Tim Duncan and KG are equals? Whose career would you have rather had?

I just don't see that as being a problem comparison...

KG is the cool one...or whatever.

Duncan is the greatest PF of all time.

KG's team winning a first round series without him will say more about him than repeating will.

Rajon Rondo is averaging a triple double through the first 5 games of this series...

24 ppg

Let's judge the merits of cheering for the Cavs not by supporting the team itself, but let's think about the poor bastards of Ohio. When was the last title win for a professional franchise in that state? How's their manufacturing economy going? How's the weather there? How's the food/tourism/nightlife? With the rest of the league re-tooling when will their next chance come? How much do you (as a Spurs fan or otherwise) dislike the Lakers? And one might feel a little bad (as a Spurs fan) for busting up the last Cleveland run with such sweeping dominance. Oh, and let's not forget the famous M.J. shot, which might be the most recognizable Cavs scene of their whole existence as a franchise (a heartbreaking losing effort). All things considered, their has been no joy in Cleveland for decades. Punch my ticket, I'll take this train. Woo-woooo!

So it's San Antonio North for me with Brown and Ferry and I think there are a few others but don't remember their names.

4. Carl Herrera for Luis Scola
5. Hedo "I won't move my feet to catch that pass" Turkoglu

LBJ is probably an egomaniac, but so is Kobe on top of being a dirt bag.

Me personally I don't feel the other teams are real contenders on paper, the Celtics sans Garnett, and the I enjoy the Cav's bunch much more than the Lakers.

The Laker Nation may be hated for their arrogance, but you will never find them collectively rooting for ANY team if they get eliminated.

You can't find "Laker Nation" at all when they get eliminated.

Spur fan has no right to talk to Laker fan about being a bandwagoner.

You can't even sellout playoff games with a contending team.

That's the epitome of a bandwagon team.

You have gotta to be braindead idiot to get pissed off at spurs fans for rooting against your team. The sad thing about you is that your pathetic in the regard that your team is still in the playoffs but your still bitching about spurs fans. I'm going to have to go back to calling you the same nickname like I did last year which is walking vagina because you definitely are one.

What a pathetic fanbase trying to ride the coattails of another organization's accomplishments.

LOL. I have watched Spurs playoff games in LA bars where the whole place was rooting for Phoenix, Dallas, Detroit, New Jersey, Utah, or anyone else the Spurs were playing.

Screw the Cavs! I was going for the Magic to come out of the East all along because the Celtics are dicks, Mo Williams is a turd. Plus Dwight Howard winning a ring will make me happy. He's a good guy.

God Mike Brown is a horrible horrible basketball coach.

It's hard to do much when your two guards are 6-3 and 6-2, your "big men" are all old, slow, and not really very big, you don't have any swingmen besides James who can shoot at all and when your 2nd best player is Mo Williams.

No team has ever won a ring when their 2nd banana was just as good as Mo Williams is. He was the 2nd best player in Milwaukee too and they couldn't get out of the 1st round.

Yea cavs are really a bad team.
They season record showed it :rolleyes

This team had everything it needed to take the title to Cleveland, but it ocured that Mike Brown have no invension when it comes to the offense. Pop used to be the same.
Brown had nothing in offesnive arsenal but LeBron on the top of a key. There is no team offense, they only got what LeBron could give nad James prooduction was outstanding. But there is something more to an incredible basketball player. And you either Russell or Wilt in terms of winning.

I feel for LeBron & the Cavs. They work hard to get the best record, HCA throughout and their season ends in Orlando.

I know that Cleveland will be working hard this offseason to surround LeBron w/the right kind of talent to compete and win a championship. Despite LB haterion by some, I like him and I hope he does win a championship or two or three......as that saying goes, Rome wasn't built in a day and neither will the Cavs. It took Jordan how many years before he won the first of his many championships and became a legend. :king

Not one.

I doubt you're enough of a basketball authority to know that. To me it looked like they made some adjustments in Game 3, didn't allow quite so many threes, but abandoned them after they lost the game. Unfortunately what Brown didn't realize is that defensively Cleveland did more than enough to win Game 3, but that was their worst offensive day in the series.

I'm not sure what you wanted Mike Brown to do defensively. None of his players match up physically with Orlando's three best guys. Even saying, "Well LeBron can guard Hedo" is over-simplistic because all Turkoglu needs is a screen to get past him and deal with a big on a switch. The Magic had mismatches all over the place.

As for offense, I agree Mike Brown is a terrible offensive coach, but it's a little late in the game to change the offense. This is the way the Cavs played the whole year and it worked for them. Me, I would've given Mo Williams more responsibility to run the offense, like he did with the Bucks. Here he's basically a catch and shoot guy, which isn't his game. Cleveland's biggest problem is that no one is a threat to score in the paint besides James and none of their bench guys can shoot consistently, at all. They really didn't have an answer for Pietrus.
