Dwight Howard Suspended 1 game

It looks like the Magic will be without Dwight Howard for will be out for game 6 (http://www.nba.com/2009/playoffs2009/04/29/howard.suspended.ap/index.html?cid=playoff1). He was suspended 1 game for that elbow.

The NBA set that standard in the 90s with the Knicks-Heat suspensions. I can't remember if it was 97 or 98, but that's the no-tolerance rule that has been enforced since then. I agree that it's stupid to suspend players for minor crap like leaving the bench and throwing elbows though.

The rule should have been edited the following offseason so we don't hear Barkley say, "If Amare and Diaw can get suspended for flying off the bench then ________ should get suspended for _______" everytime a minor incident like this happens.

The only reason it was made to be such a big deal was due to the fact that a certain team likely pushed the story to the press.

I called it!!! Seriously though every time Gortat gets minutes he plays very well. He's a very good secret to have on your bench.
