I can't explain it, other thats what happens. Just like I can't explain why we lost to some of the teams we lost to this year with Duncan. Any team can have a solid game or an off game. Unfortunately for us Indy had the solid game and we had the off game. I am planning on that being switched at least once before TD comes back.
Oh, so you're basically saying " It's just a coincidence" ...my ass.
Don't give me that crap, the Spurs NEED Duncan in the play-offs, and Spurs wouldn't get into the 2nd round without him.

If anything signals their don't-give-a-shit attitude, it's being -14 RBs.
Now, let's hear it from the "No worry. We're 50-18" crowd.
I bet the Hawks come in smelling blood, beat us, then of course Rockets and Sonics will beat us easily. 6 straight losses.
Then back on the road @Nuggets, a certain L.
Lakers then come in and shit on us, 8 L
Clippers already damn near beat us @SBC with everybody healthy, 9 L.
Then back on the raod for 3 L's. No way the Spurs get 60 W's.
***CLAP CLAP CLAP***
Thank you.
Someone else other than few people in here can admit it...

It's called being REAL, not being BLIND. You seriously think we are going to win like this? We aren't jumping off the effin' wagon. Just being TRUTHFUL. FANS can admit faults in their team. Homers just make excuses.
Win like what? What excuses?
Thank god I'm a homer, you've probably never played a team sport in your life. You just don't give up because things aren't going the way you thought they might.
...and you are jumping off if your giving up.

How can you be positive about this game even if they did win by some fluke with 1:11 to go. This game was excuted HORRIBLY. The only brightside to is is that we are one game closer to getting Tim back.

Thats what faith is. After you don't win the championship you have faith that they will win the next one.

...a coincidence that the other crappy teams ALWAYS have blow-out games vs. the Spurs.

I have said for 2 years now that this team can't win with Rasho in the middle.
Now they have, Horry, Massnburg, Marks and Mohammed in the middle?
The shit just keeps getting worse the more money available.

I have played basketball for 7 years. And i'm not giving up. I said we would win when Tim gets back and maybe against ATL.
We are SUPPOSED to be a better team than this crap that is being excuted on the floor right now. What good can you see out of these past three games? PLEASE TELL ME BECAUSE I DONT SEE IT. What is going to cause me to have an idea that we can win without Tim when every time we've played without him we play like crap?

I don't need to read it, I know what I said. I said that no team has ever gone 82-0 and no team has ever gone 0-82. In the NBA on any given night, any team has a chance to win. With Manu and Parker we have a chance.
Spurs just trying to make it close on the stats, but that's it. Scoreboard tonight. It was over in the third. Go Pacers Go! Thanks to the Spurs for showing up when we needed to kick someone's butt.

Good effort. I wasn't embarrased like the NY game. SA should beat the Hawks, lose to Houston and Seattle, and then Timmy could come off IR, if he's ready..
Positives: Effort, five TOs, Barry not doing an impression of a WNBA player.

Brent played 34 min, and turned in very respecatble numbers.
Manu and Tony and Rasho no showed, plus bad defense and horrible RBs, poor shooting, etc, etc, killed us.

just avoided a blowout by 20 points with a late 4th quarter charge. still too difficult to make a win on the road without Tim. next 3 game are at home, look forward to better execution, better defense; at least some improvement from the Knicks game (no lots of turnovers, no long scoring drought)
YAY WERE ABOVE 500!!!!

It just feels that way man. You know there's hope at the beginnig of the game that something has snapped inside them and they just might be agressive enough and hungry enough to win it. But then you realize 2 minutes into the game that nothing has changed. I watch just desperately hoping for a change.

Negatives: Defense (49% and 43% from 3 pointers) Only 14 assists for the spurs as a team on shot 38%.

Damn, tough pill to swallow and honestly, Mohammed hasn't played yet like he did pre groin injury in New York.

Even with Tim playing, Spurs struggle badly when the other team hustles and plays some defense. Rick is a good coach, Pacers play some D, stayed in front of their man, Foster hustled his butt on the boards, Spurs couldn't do shit.

Might be nice to have a bigman who can move faster than a turtle and who actually tries to initiate contact...and who actually knows our defense...

......and the Knicks are 9-4 beating the Celtics for the first time in like 2 years...with defense...

i dont know whats wrong with them. i think they're just tired and emotionally beaten. we should be winning, because when tim and manu were hurt last week we won a couple games, and played good in the ones we lost. we also played detroit good on sunday, so using tim missing is no excuse. we area good team with alot of depth and we will get it back and i still think we'll finish strong. this team needs their confidence back and maybe a win at home agaisnt atlanta will give it to them. they just cant win on the road without im and thats the worst part about him being out.

I wouldn't say they fucked it all up, but tonight they looked like a deer caught in the headlights. The Spurs owned the Pacers early on in the game, by driving constantly to the hoop. Then it seemed as if they "gave up". If it wasn't for Horry, that game would've been over before halftime.
But tonight, I shall gloat...cause I have a right to. Then it will be back to reality tomorrow and staring at the 7th or 8th spot in the playoff race. We'll probably get hammered to death on Friday night in Detroit. But tonight it was sweet victory.

Sweet victory? Doubt they beat us w/ Timmy.
As far as the "Malik trade screwed team chemistry" goes. I dont think so. I think the team's moral is just dirt right now. It seems like they play like they think they dont have a chance w/out the 2 time MVP. They just dont believe they can win w/out him. (and niether do I for that matter). I dunno if that is why they play like crap this year w/out Timmy, but its just my opinion.

PACERS COACH RICK CARLISLE
“On paper this looked like a really, really tough situation, especially with Fred Jones out. But I thought we had a really good game plan defensively and a good idea of what it would take to beat them. We had a lot of guys step up. AJ again orchestrated our team with great efficiency. It’s a really good team, even without Duncan. "
(On Ginobili and Parker) Fortunately for us they were missing shots they normally make. I can’t say enough about the fortitude our guys showed tonight."
(On Reggie Miller’s 25,000th point) "There is not much to say…another in a string of great accomplishments in a hall of fame career."
(On Friday’s game) "We’ll rest and recharge tomorrow and deal with Friday when it comes. It’s going to be tough. They’re the world champs and they’re a great team. We know we’ll have to play a near perfect game.”
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PACERS FORWARD AUSTIN CROSHERE
“This was a big win. We needed it to get back on track for the upcoming road trip. We were able to come out aggressive early and confuse their defense often. "
(On Reggie Miller hitting the 25,000 shot mark) "It’s unbelievable. I don’t think the rest of the team combined has that many points."
(On playing the Spurs without Tim Duncan) "We’re used to all these injuries and to expect the unexpected. It seems that they aren’t as prepared to play without him.”

PACERS GUARD REGGIE MILLER
“It was a nice accomplishment. It took a lot of hard work but I couldn’t have done it without the help of my teammates. More importantly, this win keeps us in the playoff hunt. We have three big upcoming games on the road against playoff-level opponents. It’s going to be a tough trip and we’re going to have to play our best basketball.”

PACERS GUARD ANTHONY JOHNSON
“We showed a great amount of defensive effort tonight. This effort allowed us to get a big win tonight. There is a lot of pride in our locker room now. We do not want to take chances of missing the playoffs. This team was built with Donnie Walsh and Larry Bird with a lot of pride and with the effort towards making a total team on both ends of the floor."
(On starting) "I am trying to do what I can to help lead this team into the playoffs and as deep as we can go. We just have to keep it turned up.”
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PACERS CENTER JEFF FOSTER
“This is a big win; but they all have to be big from here on out. We had to step this up and keep it turned up. We take them a game at a time. "
(On Tim Duncan) "Yes, he was out; but keep in mind we had three players out also. You play the game to win and play with what you have. We will play with a lot of intensity the rest of the season.”

SPURS COACH GREGG POPOVICH
“(It was) a very disappointing game. Physically and mentally, we did not compete. We were soft as a group. I’m disappointed in our approach. We did not play to win and played without any fire. Our competitiveness was just not there. We have some guys that need to realize that they need to step up their games because we are not that damn good without Tim Duncan. On the other hand, the Pacers have done a good job with many of their guys out of playing hard and being competitive."
(On Reggie Miller’s retirement) "Thank God…Reggie is somebody that every player in this league could learn from, especially on how the game should be played and how you should prepare. (He is) one of the all-time greats. On the selfish side, I hope he retires and stays there.”
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SPURS GUARD MANU GINOBILI
(On the difference in the game) "(It was a) desire to win. Their desire was much greater than ours. It’s not that we didn’t want to win the game, but we didn’t do the necessary things in order to win. It seems like we are feeling sorry for ourselves without Tim (Duncan) and that we don’t expect to win these games, and it shouldn’t be like that. We need to fix it. Even without Tim, we should be able to execute better and play harder and we are not doing that.”
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SPURS CENTER RASHO NESTEROVIC
“We did not play our best basketball. With our without Tim (Duncan) we should be competing and playing hard. The last three games we did not play like that. Right now our focus should not be on home court advantage, it should be on how we are playing and right now I have a bad feeling.”
