I know it's early but I'd like to get an idea what all you think is the most important.

Spurs should draft a Center I think. Bonner is just a d-leaguer wearing silver&black, playing him as starting center on spurs team is just like nominating Hillary Clinton as the SOS of the US, neither makes sense.

Spurs just need a young center that has a big body and good athletism, it doesn't matter if this guy has the awareness or willingness to do dirty work in the paint as Pop will force him to do so.

Depends what plans they have.. the biggest hole right now is certanily at SF.

Long Defensive SF I guess... depends on what the staff think of our stashed players.

Sorry I forgot that either Sheed or Dyess would join spurs this summer to fill their hole in the paint.

I say SF and then C.

Spurs first pick is #37. A player drafted that late likely won't be able to help Spurs next year. FA and trades is the only way to fix Spurs hole.

The most important is that Spurs draft player(s) they believe in. It doesn't matter what spot they are playing.

You would draft a PG with Tony and Georges on the team?

If there is a PG, that I like significantly more than the rest of the players available, yes. Otherwise, no.
If both Hill and the PG drafted turn well, you can still trade one of them. A young PG on a cheap rookie contract is a valuable trade asset.

Best available player. End of story. Any role player you get out of this draft is great.

Our next SF, long and with rim defense is....Gist.

B.P.A. Going to the D-League or Europe anyway unless he's a super steal.

I know this is heresy but Gist will spend most of next season playing for the Toros.

I say we need an offensive-minded Sf. We already have enough guys that can pick up the slack on defense. We need a small forward that can get to the rim and create shots, heck would be good if he was a badass dunker too. All we need is offensive firepower.

I chose C but I forgot about Mahammi so my pick is small foward.

Trade up to the first round to get the next Mahinmi. :hat

spurs need to find a successor for tim duncan. if a young big man can be mentored by tim duncan, then he might actually be able to somewhat fill his shoes (i know nobody will truly fill timmy's shoes, but you get the picture) just like david robinson did for tim duncan. basically keep up the tradition

I know that's what the Spurs would like, but I think he needs to be in SA just to fill out the roster.

Spurs should draft a SF ... the Spurs will go , i hope , to free agency and/or trades to find a decent big man ...

I voted SG but what do I know

I don't watch much college ball so I can't get too specific, but in one respect it depends on if there is a strong player at a position of need come our turn to select.

To answer the question, I'd prefer to draft a C/PF. Most of the guys we have aren't going to be around past next season, if that (KT, Oberto, & Gooden might be just a likely not to re-sign)....and some might even be trade bait. Bonner has proven he can contribute from behind the arc and around the perimeter both offensively and defensively but he's not a traditional big....more like Dirk, an oversized SF. We NEED to get a young big with energy, hustle, defensive integrity, and AT LEAST an offensive upside IMO.

draft a long, athletic SF
a long armed, athletic F/C
a sharpshooter
bring over Gist and Sanikidze
re-sign Hairston and Williams.

let vaughn, bowen and finley retire.....maybe even Fab. I think we also let udoka walk.

C - Ian, Bonner, Draft Pick
PF - Duncan, Thomas, Gist
SF - Sanikidze, Draft Pick, Williams
SG - Mason, Manu, Draft Pick
PG - Parker, Hill, Hairston

Either SF or C. I don't remember another team which needs a SF so much like Spurs.

If we were to keep Bowen and Gooden.....let go of vaughn, udoka, finley, oberto, and thomas (all in their 30s)

draft
37 - Danny Green
51 - Garret Siler
53 - Lee Cummard

Roster
C - Mahimni, Bonner, Siler
PF - Duncan, Gooden, Gist
SF - Bowen, Sanikidze, Green
SG - Mason, Manu, Cummard
PG - Parker, Hill, Hairston

all of a sudden we are younger, deeper, and more athletic.

In 2010, we bring over Splitter to replace Bonner, and find someone to fill the spot vacated by the retired Bowen.

this year draft is a deep PG class so maybe we could find a quality PG in the second round that would be our third PG instead of vaughn.

Not another undersized small forward. The guy needs to be 6-9 or better.

Austin Daye Gonzaga. His shot is lights out 6-10 and he's 20.

Center - The Spurs biggest weakness IMHO is rebounding. If they can get a big body to help crash the boards, it would go a long way towards fixing things. I think the Spurs have a few potential SF's that could help this team in Hairston, Gist and Williams. Our stockpile of bigmen currently does not look as promising.

Where's all of the above?

There are three very young SF/PF in international play that might be good prospects.
1. Omri Casspi (20) (6'8") has interested the Spurs for a couple of years.
2. Vladimir Drasic (20) is 6'10 and surprsisingly good defensively on perimeter for his size
3. Jonas Jerebko (22) (6'9) is athletic and good defensively.

First of all, we need to see how much money were dealing with. taking away the free agents the current roster is costing $60.3 million. I think the spurs cap is 77 mill. is that there cap?
