Bowen, Oberto, & Bonner for Tayshaun Prince? The trade complies with trade restrictions. Add in McDyess/ or Sheed to the mix and I think we can give the Lakers a run for their money.

It would ruin the 2010 plan though but I think the 2010 plan is a pipe dream just like getting Tayshuan from Detriot for scraps.

Starting Five:
Parker
Mason Jr
McDyess
Duncan
Prince

Why would Detroit do that?

Again it is a pipe dream. The only way I see it happening is if they dont see him in their rebuilding plans. He will be 30 next season. It would also free up money for them this off season if they cut Bowen and Oberto because their contracts are only partially guaranteed.

If we could get Tayshaun Prince...that would be awesome. A rotation of TP, Mason, Prince, Duncan, and Dice or Sheed if one is signed. Off the bench with Manu, Thomas, Gooden (re-sign him) Hill, and other fillers. Not bad...

I once traded a used autographed Dale Earnhardt Sleeper Thong for a pile of toenail clippings and miscellaneous pubic hair. If the Pistons organization hired me as the president of basketball operations that trade would still never go down.

Some people might not put a lot of stock into an autographed Dale Earnhardt Sleeper
Thong but those are people who have never slept in one of Dale Earnhardt's quality line of sleep thong wear.

He was about Tayshaun Prince's age when we got him.

Personally I prefer trading Vaughn & Bonner for LeBron. Trading Fin & Fab for Dwight Howard. And finally trading Mason and Udoka for Wade and by golly, I do believe we're set for the 2009-2010 run for the roses.

Prince is slow on defense, doesn't rebound, and still hasn't developed a right hand.

Why would you want him?

I know its a long shot I called it a pipe dream in the original post.

I think if we tack on some assets to sweetened the deal, such as Splitter or/and Mahinimi, its really not out of the realm of possibility. Pau Gasol was traded for less.

I feel we really need to shore up our SF position to be competitive. On all four championship runs we had excellent play out of that position. Bowen and Elliott came up big in critical times during those campaigns.

what about this trade:

if Hornets still want to dump Chandler we could offer them those Expiring contracts.

I say we consolidate the Spurs/Pistons for a 2009-2010 run.

I'd be willing to share 50% of the championship.

From the rumors I've read, Chandler's foot/ankle is a lot worse than people realize.

IF we re-sign Gooden it would have to be for the MLE, since we don't have his bird rights.

So you'd have to choose between Gooden or another MLE level FA, cuz Gooden ain't playing for less than the MLE again.

While we are at it, let's add LeBron and Dwight Howard too. We might be able to fit them on the bench.
