Should be good.

Yao vs Pau/Bynum
Scola vs Odom
Artest/Ariza
Battier/Kobe
Brooks/Fish

Some good matchups all around.

At this point, i think Artest's defense has slipped, especially against quicker perimeter players like a Kobe or even a Wade. Hes more suited to guard bigger forwards like a Carmelo, or a LeBron (not that anyone can stop him), or a Paul Pierce - where he can use his still above average quickness and strength, to neutralise their advantages.

So, what im trying to say is, i think you will see alot more Battier on Kobe than Artest. Given his recent success, and Kobes recent torchings of Ron.

The last time the Lakers played in Houston Kobe destroyed both Artest and Battier so I'm not sure either will be able to control him but I agree Battier has the better chance at this point.

Lakers in 5...6 if Houston gets lucky.

Lakers better not come out with the pansy effort from the bench... This isn't Utah anymore.
And honestly, Houston doesn't have anything to lose. Let's hope they don't just get relaxed now that they moved out of the first round and make this a great series...

There won't be any sweep you cocky Laker Ho's.

This game will be won by defense like every other Championship. Lakers better offensive pace while Rockets better defensive pace.

Offensive ratings: Lakers 110.7 Rockets 105.2
Defensive ratings: Lakers 88 Rockets 98.6

Defense wins Championships

good finding, I also think the Rockets will beat the Lakers in the second round and face the Mavs in WCF, though the Rockets won't move forward by one more step though. Rockets in 7.

both come from mega douche bag cities but lakers fan hasn't won shit with kobe as the lead guy and they act like he is jordan. maybe we can get a polesmoker laker fan to start a thread asking if kobe is better than jordan since he hasn't done shit comparable to jordan.

I am going to have to agree with you on this one. If the Lakers build big leads in this series and lose them like they've been doing, it WILL bite them in the ass that's if they build big leads. If Lakers play 4 periods not 3, this series is clinched.

True.

But Artest gave Kobe extra motivation with his comparison to Roy.

If the Lakers decide they don't want to win a couple of games like they did against Utah, they could get in trouble. They had better play a better set of games than they did in the first round.

For some reason I think Kobe isnt what he was last yr...he wasnt as "on" in the Utah series except for Game 4 in Utah. I think Battier and Artest have the potential to shut him down...and the Lakers will suffer.

9-17 shooting with 9 assists
8-17 shooting with 8 assists
horrible game three
16-24 shooting 38 points
10-21 shooting

He was clearly just chilling and trying to get his teammates involved and the one game he chose to take over he did just that and completely dominated. I think he'll be just fine.

Lakes don't play consistent defense and are way overconfident, bynum and pau are soft as a baby's butt, Brooks will blow by fisher like he's stuck in mud, Lowry will barrel thru the lakes trasparent defense straight to the cup for And1s, Scola will dazzle with his crafty post moves and deadly jumper, Yao will dominate and foul out their bigs, and Battier and Artest will force kobe into low percentage shots and limit him in some games and SHUT him down in others, wafer will light up the lakes second unit like a motherfucker, Landry will be a monster on the boards. This will be a great series. Rox win series.

seems like the fans are as overconfident as the players and btw, you would know a thing or 2 about bias and homerism as you expect to toy with the rox like they're a H.S. team. You got a new wave of hurt coming in the form of complete and balanced team offense and team defense while you sit back and hope Kobe can bail you out.

So the Rockets had 4 chances to beat the Lakers this season. You want to know how they fared?

0-4

But please let's ignore that meaningless regular season statistic.

The Rockets don't have the offense to keep up with the Lakeshow. They don't have the defense to shut them down either, and with Dikembe out they have nobody with any real size other than Yao Ming.

The same moronic 1st grade analysis that I read here when the Lakers faced the Jazz appears to be rearing its head once again. Spur fan just stop trying to look rational in your posts, just say what you really want to say....

Thanks for making another great point as to why the Lakers have the advantage. In close games the Rockets have to settle for "complete and balanced team offense" and have nobody to create their own shot and bail them out or hit clutch shots meanwhile the Lakers have the best closer in the game.
