Very gracious of Pop to give Givony an interview, even though it was pretty short. Interesting that he refused to comment on individual players.

Yes. They have ask him to come to Spurs next year. He will mainly consider it if he gets his first triple crown this year.

aka crap. Maybe they are looking at him...but I won't believe they asked him to come until I see something. Greek threads are known for exaggerating, and this could very well be another case. I would think San Antonio media would know about it before Greek media, considering Pop would have to talk to Buford before he made any sort of decision on paying a player.

Think Pop is going to down to very expensive Euro wine, while across the pond? I believe that's as safe a bet as any around.

This must be a really interesting time for Pop, since he hasn't been out of the playoffs this early in a long time. I think it may be good for him to have all this time to reevaluate the team, it's pieces, and to make necessary changes. Maybe he'll spot some undercover talent like Manu or TP. Well, we can hope at least.:lol

PAO won the Greek cup this year. They play Euroleague final tomorrow. They are in middle of Greek league playoffs right now. Your posts do not even make sense. Besides I doubt Spanoulis would even go to Spurs now. He will not want a team in decline like Spurs.

Jonathan Givony: When you’re watching games like these, are you still looking at them from the eyes of a coach? Seeing the stuff they run and trying to pick up a few things here and there?
Gregg Popovich: Oh sure. I’m much more anal in that sense. In this game for example I saw a great out of bounds play that I’m going to steal for sure. I like to see how different coaches manage the game. How they sub. What they’re doing offensively and defensively. There is always something you can learn. If you think there is nothing else to learn, than you better retire.
Maybe there's still hope for Pop yet.

3rd Place:
Regal FC Barcelona 95
Olympiacos 79
Regal FC Barcelona finished the 2008-09 Euroleague Basketball season in third place after cruising to a 79-95 victory over Olympiacos Piraeus at o2 World in Berlin. In a fast-paced and entertaining game, Barcelona led from start to finish, pulling away with a 0-15 charge that bridged the first and second periods, as it held the Reds without a basket for nearly seven minutes. David Andersen scored 20 to pace Barca, which finished the season with 18 wins – more than any team in the Euroleague this season. Juan Carlos Navarro and Jaka Lakovic added 14 apiece for the winners and Daniel Santiago scored 10. Lakovic also dished 5 steals. Lynn Greer led Olympiacos with 19 points, Ioannis Bourousis posted 17 points and 9 rebounds, Nikola Vujcic finished with 12 and Zoran Erceg had 11.

Ocotillo was making a joke about the Kentucky Derby, which is one of three major horse races. When one horse wins all 3, it's called a triple crown.

Good game though.

What you SHOULD have bolded was the word "rumors." It's freaking Greek papers...They'd rumor that Elvis and Tupac were seen playing poker in Athens...come on dude...give it a rest. What the HELL is LA going to do with him? With Bynum and Gasol, there's not enough room on that team to pay him what he's going to want. He'd be horrible in GS..the style is completely horrible for him. Same with the Knicks...

I agree 100% with you my friend, but to be honest I think he would be a nice back PG for our team. I am Greek, and I have followed Spanoulis's career since he was in Marousi, the first small market team to make it to the Greek league finals. That's pretty big, the only other team that has done that (at the time other the big3), and its not exactly a small marker team, was PAOK under the leadership of Peja.
Even though Spanoulis is not Peja, he could be an impact player off the bench for us. And to be honest, spurs are maybe the only NBA team, that Spanoulis can some success with.

I would hate for the Spurs to get VSpan but honestly, he would really help you guys out.
So much so, that it would give you another PG/SG penetrating combo player....
With him, you guys would not have missed Manu so much......he is not as good but he is better than anyone else on the roster not named, Duncan, Ginobli and Parker.

True but the Spurs did let him off his contract to go home to see his sick mother. I think that V-Span has learned that he can't just play for any team and get the minutes or the treatment he wants. I think he will be very careful in what team he plays for and which coach he will play for.
I know Kill Bill has been talking about this guy forever and getting ragged on but I have looked alot of his videos and the guy can play and play well for us.
To be honest he can get minutes as Tony's backup and also when teams are shutting down Mason he can take those. Also would be insurance in case Manu ankle has more problems this upcomming season.
I still think our needs our a young center and the two European players are who I would like..Splitter or Kill Bills other fried..B...
