Yeah because they shot about 214243412342 layups as opposed to our 1 Erick Dampier dunk.

This just in, Dirk shot another fadeaway

Fail.

Dallas probably deserved a few more free throws but the Nuggets are the best in the league at getting to line. They will have more FT's this series than Dallas.

Our guys just aren't physically strong enough to keep these guys away from the rim. We saw it with Wade and Baron the last few years, Lebron always rapes us, Kobe always does, etc. Pretty much anyone that plays aggressive can get all the way to the rim against us. Strong wing players, or anyone aggressive for that matter gives us fits. Had TD stayed aggressive instead of settling for hooks and things because of his injury, he could have got to the rim and scored 35 ppg also, even injured. Amare did it to us in the past. Anyone that plays like a man terrifies the shit out of these little pansies.

Apparently the Mavs are like 1-13 or something over last 7-8 years when Danny Crawford officiates in playoffs.

Rigged league!

Jump shots vs drives....

And maybe Dallas should start moving their feet.

Kind of like when JOEY Crawford reffed Spurs/Mavs game 3, right?

Denver does get to the line more, but Dallas has to come closer than 36 to 13 to win the series.

Thats a weird record because Danny Crawford is one of the very best referees.

But as mentioned earlier, the Nuggets when they play the way they should are a powerful, bullying team. Then add in Billups craftiness at getting to the FT line and Denver, at home, in a game then win by 15+ will almost always have a good disparity in FT attempts.

which is why i cant figure out why the refs were giving him so much butt love in the SA series.

i mean at least Barea, Howard, and even Dampier were in the lane and drawing contact....but Dirk was getting tons of weak calls.

in today's game, the refs didnt pamper him. in fact, they didnt pamper Dallas at all. they let denver be as physical as they wanted to be. there was definitely some home cookin today. but then again, denver was by far the aggressor and went to the hole with reckless abandon.

Denver plays like a pack of hungry wolves, especially at home. Billups with his championship experience and poise is definitely a huge lift to this team....he might even be enough to counteract the playoff stupidity of Karl.

Mavs have been called for 35 more fouls and shot 106 less free throws in the last 14 games Crawford has officiated for them in the playoffs (looked it up :)). Please let's not act like today was entirely due to Denver's aggression. Clearly a shady trend going on here!

The source of Mavs affliction is their crippled starting SF, Melo totally dominated that smokey tonight. Dampier and Bass were both strong enough to give some restrictions to the nuggets meat sticks like Crystle Martin and Oneball Nene, but Smokey's poor defensive work often forced them to spread 30% of their attention on Melo. Nene and K-Mart are decent players but not THAT good as they seemed like in tonight's game.

The Mavericks got far more than their fair share of calls; the fact that it was so few was just an indication of Denver's dominance in the paint.

Mavs have no chance this series. I was guessing Nugs in 5 before game one, but after seeing game one... I'm thinking sweep.

Denver is more aggressive. They slash to the basket and play tougher inside. They were #1 in free throw attempts for the regular season at about 30 per game. They shot 30 per game in Round 1. No reason to expect them to change their game. They are good at drawing fouls. They don't shoot fadeaway jumpers and then fall on their ass like Dirk hoping for a foul. They take it hard to the hole and make the referee decide what to call or not.
