Michael Vick (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?playerId=2549) met Tuesday with former Colts (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/clubhouse?team=ind) coach Tony Dungy at the federal prison in Leavenworth, Kan.

"I can confirm that Michael met with coach Dungy," Vick's agent, Joel Segal, said. "The discussions were private, but the meeting was very positive." Vick met with Dungy to discuss his life after he gets out of prison. He is scheduled to leave Leavenworth May 20 and serve the remainder of his sentence under home confinement at his five-bedroom home in Hampton, Va., with his fiancee and two of his children.
His sentence ends July 20, and he will be on supervised probation for the next three years.
Once he leaves Leavenworth, he will work 40 hours a week at a construction company in Hampton, making $10 an hour.
Vick pleaded guilty to a federal charge related to funding a dogfighting operation, and was suspended indefinitely by the NFL in August 2007.
Vick is hoping to return to the NFL this fall. Commissioner Roger Goodell, who suspended him indefinitely, will meet with Vick later this summer to discuss whether he can go back on the field. A meeting with a respected figure such as Dungy could help his return.

INDIANAPOLIS -- Former Indianapolis Colts (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/clubhouse?team=ind) coach Tony Dungy says Michael Vick (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?playerId=2549) wants a second chance when he's out of prison.

Dungy met with Vick last week at the federal penitentiary in Leavenworth, Kan., where Vick is serving a 23-month sentence for bankrolling a dogfighting conspiracy.Dungy spoke Wednesday at a workshop in Indianapolis for offenders seeking jobs. He compared Vick's situation as he nears his release from prison to theirs.
Dungy didn't discuss details of his visit with Vick but told The Associated Press that the former Atlanta Falcons (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/clubhouse?team=atl) quarterback made a mistake.
"I think Michael is just like so many other guys that I have seen, so many other people who are nameless, faceless in that environment," Dungy said. "It's a young man that made a mistake and is looking for a chance to recover and move forward. That's where he is and that's where so many of the men who are here today are."
Vick is to be transferred May 21 to home confinement in Hampton, Va., which is scheduled to last through July.

IMO, once he has paid his debt to society, he should be allowed to pursue gameful employment.

Agreed...everybody deserves a second chance...hell...if Pacman Jones can get all these chances, why not Vick?
