I'm starting to really question their focus. If they dont come out tomorrow & try to kill houston right away, then ima be real pissed. Game 1 was some of the worst team ball i've seen all year. Kobe better not take more then 24 shots too hahaha

Like i said in the other thread, they need to have that damn hunger that these other teams have & the bandwagon crowd at staples better be loud.

I think the Lakers will win but it will be a really close game that they'll barely pull out. Lakers better pray they win one of these first two in Houston cause if not they're losing the series in 6. If they lose the series, ship Gasofts ass out. You'll never win a title with him as you're main big, you'll have a great 60 win season every year but when the playoffs come around and the physical defensive minded teams are there, he'll completely disappear. Show up tomorrow king soft or GTFO!

"ClutchFans" is depressing, these are the comments you'll find in a thread called "Rockets-Lakers game 1 discussion" (or something to that effect): "Go Rockets", "I love my team", "Let's go Yao", "Yes", "I'm so happy".

Jacob1983

The pressure is on the Rockets. They have to win game 2. If they win game 2, it will crush the Lakers' spirit. If they lose game 2, the Lakers will be awakened and will have the momentum and motivation to win the series and not have any doubts. So I think the Rockets have to win game 2 in order to have a shot at winning the series.

cmon rockets. stay humble stay hungry

this is the problem.

I think that the Lakers will win by 30 + points and Kobe will have another big night. The two teams will come in with completely different attitudes (the Lakers will be the aggressor and the Rockets will come out passive).

I support the Rockets of the two teams.

However, the Lakers will win this game easily.

And the problem is that the Lakers will win at least one game in Houston.

And it will be worse if Yao is injured.

Lakers will still probably take this series in 6.

However, Houston winning game 1 was cool and made the series a little more exciting and interesting.

Go Rockets !

It was great for Houston to steal game 1, but I think the Lakers probably win this game by double digits. It will be more important to hold on to home court when they get back to Houston to have a chance to close them out in 6 at home.

I can't believe even Rocket fans are buying into this conspiracy mumbo jumbo even after dealing with all the foul play crying by the Portland fans.

Let's not forget the Rockets shot more free throws than the Lakers. And in the Utah series, the Jazz shot more free throws than the Lakers in 4 out of 5 games. Lakers aren't getting the ref love. 5 out of 6 Playoff games so far have NOT been ref favorable to the Lakers.

If anything, it looks like Stern's trying to make sure the Lakers DON'T make it to the Finals :lol

So let's quit with the conspiracy theories cuz if there was one, the refs are doing a terrible job of it.

Free throw counts are not necessarily an indicator of bias officiating. Most of the time it's simply an indicator of which team is being the aggressor.

Lakers just need to wake up.

I want to see what PJax came up with to slow down/stop Yao. Bynumite was a foul machine in the first game, and Pau can only watch getting his ass handed to himself. The other subplot is how does Yao knee feels.

The Lakers will probably shoot like 40 something free throws and the Rockets will only shoot 10. Kobe will have a Dwayne Wade type night at the FT line and shoot between 15 to 20 FTs.

Nice win by the Rockets in Game 1 but Lakers will prevail tonight. The Rockets won't play as well as they did Monday. The Lakers will play much better than they did Monday. Kobe and the rest of the team will more than make up for that clunker. The Lakers are the better team and that loss, more than anything, may have been a wake up call that they may not cakewalk through the WC as they appeared to do last year.

The Lakers have a lot to prove in this series. They are the underdogs in the series and I would be surprised if they make the WCF's.

Really, just a few days ago you said this.

Houston vs. Lakers - I have to give LA some credit I suppose, they won the first round series against Utah despite being the underdog in the series and Utah was the favorite. I still think it was just a matter of making shots and nothing else. Lakers will win this in 5. Houston had the easiest first round of any team and has no business being in the playoffs. I don't expect Bynum to do anything this series or next series or in the Finals, but I don't expect the Rockets to do anything either. The Lakers will win this series only because it's Houston and their toughest opponent (Spurs) already got eliminated with their most explosive player sidelined with an injury. So, the Lakers should be thankful that they don't have to play the Spurs this year, because they can't beat the Spurs in a 7 game series with Manu playing.

Denver vs. Dallas - Again, Dallas beat the Spurs despite being the underdog in the series but that was because Manu Ginobili was out and our role players (Mason, Hill, Bonner) just don't have the playoff experience to fill in the void and Manu's defensive and offensive impact on games can't be replaced with jump shooting. Denver will win this in 5, this will be the worst 2nd round series in history. Nothing intriguing about this series at all.

The bold was from a few days ago, now you're saying that the Lakers are the underdog? Please stop with the bullshit man.

Fuck, you get pissed at Spurs fans for being mad when Derek Fisher fucking runs Barry over as he shoots a three to end the game and you have the nerve to complain about the very fair game 1 officiating? The refs didn't cause Gasol and Bryant to have horrible games and all the shooters to go ice cold from the three-point line.

Rockets will win the game.

I'm not going to say HOU is flat out going to win, but yeah, LA's not been good about maintaining a high level of play when they're leading.

Of course with HOU hitting 3's LA might not be leading at all much longer.

he stuck out his butt while maitainting his pivot foot. the lakers used to do it all the time and its a staple of the triangle offense but it was made illegal a couple years ago. the old school kings did it too. it prevents the defender from chasing somebody. its now a moving screen
