For the 12th time in his 12 seasons, Spurs forward Tim Duncan found his name listed on one of the NBA's All-Defensive teams Wednesday. In doing so, he etched his name deeper into the league record books.

Duncan, an eight-time member of the All-Defensive first team, earned a spot on this year's second team.

He is the only player in NBA history to claim a dozen All-Defensive nominations. Duncan had shared the previous mark of 11 with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

"He's been our foundation for quite a while now," Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said. "He does whatever he can to make things good for everybody else."

While Duncan's All-Defensive streak remained intact, Bruce Bowen's did not.

Limited mostly to a reserve role this season, Bowen failed to garner a mention on either defensive team for the first time since 1999-2000. In fact, he did not attract a single vote.

Bowen had been named to five straight All-Defensive first teams before seeing his streak stopped this season.

The All-Defensive teams are selected by a vote of all 30 NBA coaches. No coach may vote for his own players.

Orlando's Dwight Howard, who last month was named the league's Defensive Player of the Year, highlighted the first team. It also includes the Lakers' Kobe Bryant, Cleveland's LeBron James, New Orleans' Chris Paul and Boston's Kevin Garnett.

Joining Duncan on the second team are Miami's Dwyane Wade, Boston's Rajon Rondo, and the Houston twosome of Shane Battier and Ron Artest.

Exhibition in Austin: Kevin Durant is scheduled for a return to his college stomping grounds.

The Spurs announced they have reached an agreement to play Durant's Oklahoma City Thunder in an Oct. 20 preseason game at the Erwin Center in Austin.

Durant, considered one of the NBA's rising young stars, earned national player of the year honors during his lone season at Texas in 2006-07.

There will be a presale that runs May 18-22. Tickets go on sale to the general public June 1.
