Just caught some highlights and it looks like he can barely run at the end of the game. (didn't bother watching second half). Hope he's ok so Houston if they can pull their heads out on O, will at least give LA a run for their money.

Yao said that he has had this ankle problem all season long. Just been playing on it. Aggravated it in this game when he twisted it in the 2nd qtr. Then in second half stepped on two or three peoples feet and aggravated it some more. He said, he'll do a running test on Sat. to see if he can go for game 4. Really wants to play bad.

He wanted to play so badly at the end of the game that he even refused to let the trainer look at his ankle.

If Yao does not play this series is over. Said another way, game 4 is a must win for the rox. Then this becomes a best of 3 with one in Hou and 2 in LA and frankly that still favors the lakes.

ya, I saw that part, I feel bad for him because his teammates were playing like complete dumbasses on the offensive end. They had this game.

Yao undergoes tests, will be re-evaluated Sunday (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=txrocketsyao&prov=st&type=lgns)

Houston center Yao Ming has undergone tests on his sprained left ankle and will be re-evaluated before the Rockets’ playoff game against the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday.

Yao had 19 points and 14 rebounds in the Lakers’ 108-94 victory Friday night that gave Los Angeles a 2-1 lead in the series. Yao limped off the floor late in the game and said afterward that he had a sore left foot and ankle.

The 7-foot-6 Yao, Houston’s leading scorer, had a CT scan on Saturday that showed a sprained left ankle. The team said Yao will receive treatment and will be re-examined on Sunday by team doctor Tom Clanton.

Yao uncertain for Rockets but Artest will play game four (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=afp-basketnbarockets&prov=afp&type=lgns)

Houston Rockets star center Yao Ming has a sprained left ankle, the team announced Saturday, and might miss Sunday's National Basketball Association playoff game against the Los Angeles Lakers.

The 7-foot-6 Chinese superstar, who leads the Rockets in scoring, suffered the injury in Friday's 108-94 loss to the Lakers, which put Los Angeles ahead 2-1 in the best-of-seven Western Conference series.

Yao underwent a CT scan on Saturday that showed the ankle spain. He will be treated by team doctor Tom Clanton and re-examined ahead of Sunday's game.

Yao scored 19 points and grabbed 14 rebounds in Houston's loss Friday, limping off the court in the final minutes.

The Rockets did receive some good news Saturday when NBA officials downgraded a foul called against Ron Artest on Friday to ensure he would not be suspended for game four.

The league ruled after a video replay analysis that Artest's foul on Spaniard Pau Gasol in the Lakers' 108-94 triumph Friday did not merit a ban.

Artest had been whistled for a second-degree foul and ejected from the game. The foul was subsequently reduced to a level one violation.

Artest had also been ejected from game two of the series after exchanging words with Lakers' star Kobe Bryant. Artest claimed Bryant elbowed him in the neck but referees did not whistle Bryant on the play.

Yao is a warrior unlike another superstar on the Rockets Squad. Yao is going to play even if he has to lie about the condition of his ankle he's going to man up and play.

I'm sure he will play but if he isn't affective the Rockets are fucked. We'll see what he'll be able to do, he's already at a disadvantage with his slowness then add a bad ankle to that and he could be in trouble.

"He Who Must Not Be Named" hasn't been a Superstar for a long time.
