I did a google search for Michael Jordan playing baseball but that would have been too mean.

Seriously, losing to the Lakers in the second round >>>>>>>>> losing to the Mavs in the first round.

Dear Sook:
Your Rockets were looking great. They were holding their own against the Lakers. Sorry about the injuries. Spur fans can empathize with you. Injuries just suck the life out of a team. You've got a lot to look forward to as your team has come a long way and was certainly looking tough.

Sorry but 4 yrs in a row we are lured into a psuedo championship vision and it is obliterated right before our eyes. Besides the clippers I can't think of a fan base that endures so much suffering. Will be in college station attending A&M next year, hopefully I can forget about the rockets as I will be preoccupied. It is just too much.:(:(:depressed

I step back and realize that I don't actually play for the team. Then, I hang out with my wife and daughter and my dog and everything is far better. There's church on Sunday mornings and it's almost time for the summer movie season. Focus on getting paid and getting laid. It's all gravy, baby.

And hey - unless the NBA folds up overnight - there's always next season, tiger.

I think about this too sometimes, I enjoy sports, but sometimes a person can get into it too much. Especially when someone pins their hopes on something they have 0 control over.

It's cool, man. When you understand the inevitable, there's not much hoping and wishing can do about it. I can't control what these guys do on any given night and I, as a fan, have little effect on the decisions they make as a team.

Read some more books, get out and run a little more, get a haircut and await the offseason mode of your favorite messageboards. And when things get a little slow, sign onto Spurstalk to fend off "4 rings" assholes while bragging about sending them packing once again. All in good fun.

Dude you have two championships, more than most franchises in the league, and you made it to the second round, again more than most. I have learned this with the Mavs, it's the journey that's most fun.

Major props to you for realizing that, I know I can't. I do smoke a bowl every now and then so hopefully that will give me some relief.

Its like whenever I am at a party or with friends, they can guess whether the rockets won or not based on my mood.

Life would be so much easier being a lakers fan.

in all seriousness though...put on some good tunes, roast a bowl, call the g/f, do whatever you gotta do. If you don't have a g/f then go to the strip club...nothing gets your mind off a loss quite like a pair of titties in your face

And it probably shows up as a thumbnail because you took the picture from your album. Right click on the picture above, click on view image, put before the link and after the link, and save that in your signature.

Cheer up sook, it's the best rockets season in 12 years! We're not gonna be any worse next year, and then T-Mac will be gone the year after that! Who knows, maybe we'll go after D-Wade or something.

DrHouse

The Rockets have two NBA championships and a VERY solid team for the future.

Once they figure out WTF to do with the whole T-Mac situation they have a gaping 20+ million dollar hole to fill.

Look at it this way: not only did the Rockets figure out the secret to winning without T-Mac, they figured out the secret to winning IS being without T-Mac. Maybe next year it will clearly be Yao's team from the beginning. That, in itself, would be an improvement.

As for this season? It's still not too late to have somebody take Kobe out. I'm thinking about something along the lines of the "accidental" foul that Andrew Bynum dropped on Gerald Wallace. Nothing permanent... just a collapsed lung and a few weeks off. The league seemed to approve of the play, so why not? Get Brian Cook to do it. He's an ex-Laker, and he's expendable.

If the Rockets play their cards right, I think they could still take the Lakers.
