Another player the Spurs could have drafted instead of some Euro dude that will never play for us. Horrible drafting the last few years has killed the Spurs.

If the Spurs had drafted Davis, he'd be in Europe right now or wouldn't have gotten off the end of the bench this season.

Plus Carl Landry at 31.

Doesn't matter. I think Tiago Splitter and Marcus Williams will give us our fourth title one of these days.

Davis went two spots after Marcus Williams in the Second Round of the '07 draft.

C'mon now, I have less posts than you and not even I would have wasted valuable thread space with such a stupid observation. Although I will respond haha...

Not a dude I want in the trenches with me during a playoff run, but I give him applause for hitting the same shot TWICE in a row, both clutch, to even the series. :toast

Wasn't Davis a 2nd round pick? A lot of teams passed on him besides the Spurs. I'm sure alot of GM's passed on Davis because of his weight issues and his lack of height (6'7"). So you need to bash other teams besides the Spurs, for passing on Davis.

I hate it when people whine that their team didn't grab the second round standout of every draft. Players selected in the 40-60 range have maybe a 5% shot of being a solid contributor for a team, which means that any team drafting in that range is pretty much just playing the lottery.

He needs to work on that "after the clutch shot" face. He looked like he was yelling at someone for stealing his cheeseburger.

The Spurs may have missed on Big Baby (as a lot of teams did), but the Spurs have one of the latest picked stars in the NBA in Manu Ginobili. Manu was taken with the 57th pick ... He barely even made the draft!

The Spurstalk experts don't like to be questioned, so better keep it down.

Looks like he yelled "motherfucker!" about 4 times.

Drafting is an inexact science. Davis had plenty of negatives going for him - originally he was slated as a first rounder, but several teams passed on him for various reasons. So STFU with your selective bitching. No one was losing sleep passing over Big Baby back then.

For the record, I remember several Spurs fans on this board hoping they would pick Big Baby, both before the draft and when they could have picked him in the second round. Props to those people, at least so far in his career. I was not one of those people; I thought his size and mobility issues would be a major negative at this level. He has proven me wrong so far.

Agreed. Also, why talking about this? It didnt happen, he was not in the picture back then, so what. Jason is right, there is so much talks after everything is said and done. We never speak of him, and now because he made one, again, just one, buzzer beater and you are talking about not drafting him?

Excellent post. Big Baby was the best player left at the end of the first round on many draft boards. Unfortunately, he wasn't on the Spurs. So don't give me that crap that a lot of other teams didn't pick him as well. He was a known commodity and the Celtics made a great pick. The Spurs went with a guy with one year of college experience and he was cut. My point is that he was definitely worth taking at that point in the draft instead of an untested college freshman who probably will never make it.

The Spurs were looking for a young wing at #33 in that draft. We'll see how Williams turns out. My, how Spurs fans are spoiled.

I was so bummed about that. I am rooting for Orlando.

And the way he shoved the kid on the sideline after making the shot! :nope

BTW, let's start a thread about every player out there the Spurs didn't draft that hits a game winning shot.

how does Fat Baby suck?? dude can get 20pts from anywhere on the floor. Call me when Matt Bonner can do that in the playoffs

Exactly. Nice prediction Hater. Glen Davis led all scorers in tonights game against the Magic in leading the Celtics to a great comeback victory from 15 points down in the 4th quarter. Davis had 22 points on 8-16 from the field, 7 rebounds, and played great defense. He outscored Paul Pierce and Ray Allen and all of the Magic players as well. Great foul at the end to put Howard on the line when the Magic needed 3 and great rebound on the miss. Smart player as well.

Look, I'm not saying the guy is a starter on the Spurs but he would have been a great role player. He's stepped it up big time when his number was called when Garnett went down and he's averaging over 16 points in the playoffs. Excuse me, but we could have used someone like that. When a projected mid to late first rounder drops down into the second round, you have to take advantage. We didn't and we paid the price. All of you who say he sucks are full of shit and have absolutely no idea what you are talking about.
