Cowboys among teams interested in McAlister (http://www.fannation.com/truth_and_rumors/view/102350-cowboys-among-teams-interested-in-mcalister)

Chris McAlister (http://www.fannation.com/tags/show_tag/599), 31, is rehabbing from arthroscopic knee surgery in Los Angeles and is expected to be cleared for all football activities by late June. He'd like to stay near his native California. The Seahawks (http://www.fannation.com/tags/show_tag/26) and Chargers (http://www.fannation.com/tags/show_tag/24) have shown interest, as have the Cowboys (http://www.fannation.com/tags/show_tag/6), who intrigue McAlister very much.

C'mon Cards he went to UA what's the worst that could happen?

If he stays healthy you have a deadly secondary of McFadden, DRC, McAlister, Rolle and Wilson.

Cowboys would be very smart to pick him up.

That would be a good move.

It would give them experience and depth at the CB position. I think he would be an upgrade to the departed Henry too.

Yeah, you can never have enough solid cornerbacks.

McAlister would be a huge pickup for a secondary that is iffy at best at this moment. And the fact that he is intrigued by them makes it all that much better.

If he's ok with being the 4th corner I guess i would take him, but not as a starter or even nickel back.

I don't know if he could start, but he should be in on nickel situations. If the Cowboys pick him up, it would be nice to see where they try and fit him in.

I don't know, I don't think florige has the cover skills anymore. :)

:lol I think McAlister is great as long as he isn't acting like a baffoon. I always liked him as a shut-down corner. But he is a loose cannon. He has also been injured alot over the last couple of seasons too. When he is playing like he gives a damn he is really good. He was actually playing great for us last year until he got into Harbaugh's dog house for whatever reason.

Did you see how well Scandrick played last year in the nickel. I would much rather let him get all the playing time and keep improving than give his downs to a washed up old man.

Yeah I did, but who would you have starting? I think Jenkins might not be ready to be a full time starter, and if you can have a quality guy like Mcallister I think you try and make things happen. He's a proven DB and would help the team out, especially if Newman has an injury plagued year again.

I would just rather the Boys play Jenkins since he's young and a first round pick. I'm tired of the Boys drafting guys in the first round and then not playing them. Jenkins is big fast and young, so he needs to be starting, it's what they drafted him for. Mcallister could help, but he is nowhere near the player he was a couple of seasons ago. If he would accept a smaller role and a smaller check I would be all for it.

That's true. I can agree with that. I think having some veteran leadership there, along with Newman would help out. As well as giving them some competition so they're not just handed the starting job. I agree he needs to come cheap. I would even see what he can do at safety. Try him out during preseason and see what he does, and if he's comfortable. Experiment with Mcallister. All this, of course, hinges on if the Cowboys even sign him.

That's how I would run my franchise. (Probably why I'm not a GM.) If they have a high rating on the year's previous Madden, and he's a FA, I do all I can to sign that guy! :lol
