I did not see a thread for the game so here it is.
This is a must win game for the spurs so they can get there confidence back and show that they can play without Duncan.

Please oh please, do not run the inside out, it's not working.
Well maybe against Atlanta

Spurs should look to run more but more importantly play spurs defense.

^^ESPN showed today the Spurs give up 94+ points a game without Duncan, compared to the mid-80s. Definately need to bring more intensity on that side.

Much better attitude and effort tonight. It's amazing what happens when a few treys fall. Sean Marks BARRELING to the basket. I wonder if TMass pissed Pop off.

3rd Quarter: SPURS 70, Hawks 56

You gotta say something about Horry being perfect from the court since the last game. He's currently 10-10, including the 4 from tonight. RoHo is in playoff form.
Great comment! Yes, Robert Horry is stepping up in the absence of Duncan tonight. Duncan often teases Horry of "deciding to play" when the Spurs near the playoffs, and ....ok i'm going try to it out... RoHO.... is playing along with Tim's joke. Of course as this post is being typed, Robert Horry misses his first shot of the night. I apologize.

Damn Spurs, allow 36 pts in 3rd qtr to the damn Hawks, and get oustscored.
Very consistent in their inconsistency. Can't string together 4 qtrs of solid bball.
Can't hold a big lead.
4th will say whether they have good game or not.

By the way, that's the 2nd consecutive game that Barry is stepping up.

Is Pop dicking around with the lineups again? Either way, someone needs to figure out how to slow down Delk. Hopefully Pop rests TP most of the fourth too, it's close enough that I'd be worried if the offense screeches to a halt again in the fourth.

Barry hits a shot to break the Spurs out of their drought and hopefully stop the bleeding. Looks like Ginobli's attacking and getting to the line. At this point I just want a win, I don't care how, I just want a win.

Bones lights it up. Haters will still come out and make excuses. Too bad Nazr didn't do much out there, I thought he would step it up tonight. I had him for 9-11 rebounds I think.

03-25-2005, 11:06 PM
overall a badly-needed nice game (apart from the 3rd and 4th quarter rally by Atlanta while the Spurs are missing shots). Ginobili regained his health and led the momentum again in clutch time. Barry ENJOYED his best offensive production as a Spur, hope his strong play will continue (at least until Devin Brown comes back). LJIII got playing time and had 3 rebounds in 6 minutes. R Horry continued hot-shotting. Nesterovic highly productive. All are good signs. Hope it will continue in the next game with the Rockets.

Bones lights it up. Haters will still come out and make excuses.
So that's what, two good games (tonight, PHO), and one OK one (vs. Indy) out of 60+? I think he's still in the hole, but at least he's showing a fucking pulse out there. I thought he had died on the table those two games he put up donuts. I want him to pull it together, I'm just still not sold that he will. He still goes REALLY Rasho-passive for long stretches, and Pop had to put Manu back in for spark late in the 4th.

I think this strange of season is hard for fans and our team but could be a great scenario:
First it will hopefully create this team fighting spirit we were looking for. Such a spirit can not hapened in wining times. You create teams in adversity.
Second, it will prove beneficial in one month when we realise we found back our bench at this point; Barry and horry are hot and buil confidence. With Udrih hanging there like a pro and nazr we start seing a bench taking form
Last, The guys are going to be hungry and more outsiders than the rest of the season. Guys like tony and manu are better when not announced favorite they are borned competitors!!! This why they come even stronger after having been bad.
All in All i am trying to convince myself the 3 lost and maybe some other to come will benefit and when celebrating our title we will remember it as the milestone for this team like the rodeo trip the other title years.

I agree with the last poster... The Spurs have been picked as favs throughout the season and have kinda coasted along with very little bumps in the road. The injuries and the 3 loses have HOPEFULLY woken them up to see they are going to have to fight for it. The Spurs are a very competitve team that does NOT like to loose. Us Spurs fans have gotten used to winning, and are therefore VERY spoiled with it. They will step up to the challange and will pull through for us. This season has been a weird roller coaster ride with trades, injuries , and loosing streaks... But at the end the Spurs will come out on top. They will find their fire again... Last nights sneak peak was GREAT!!!
Go Spurs GO
