Is it not obvious to everyone that The_Game is a Lakers fan?

You can't hide it anymore, dude. Just drop the facade.

Wouldn't be surprised if LAL loses tonight and gets blown out on Thursday.

This team simply has no heart.

Nah, just in the past couple of years, Spurs-Jazz had to be the most unwatched WCF. Rockets-Nuggets won't do below them (if it happens, which it probably won't, since the Lakers will win the series).

I gave the team the benefit of the doubt in the regular season when I saw them coast.

After I saw them do this repeatedly in the post season I have no more excuses for them. They simply don't play with full effort and heart every night.

Protip: If the Lakers win tonight, House is going to be in here talking about how incredibly unbeatable the Lakers are and talking shit to every Rockets fan he can find.

Even if we lose we have already won.

We exposed the Lakers as a mentally weak team, we gave them doubt, we put on a great display of heart and even made fans out of our traditional rivals. It was a great post season for us.

No, if you lose you lose. Nobody will remember you. There are no moral victories in sports.

Getting out of the 1st round is not a huge accomplishment.

And even more important, you got over the "we can't get out of the first round of the playoffs" malise. :) Prior to this year, when was the last time the Rockets made it out of the first round?

Dude is just royally butthurt because Lakers couldn't sweep the Rockets, and then got an ass kicking of epic proportion (aka game 6 see finals)

Yea losing by 12 is an ass kicking of epic proportions...

Please, even the Laker championship teams got blown out in the playoffs. 33 pt loss to IND in the Finals Game 5.

Rockets let up in the 4th Quarter, plus Artest shot like 4 for 20. Bynum is not Shaq by any stretch of the imagination, so I don't know why you compare these lakers to the championship ones.

I agree, Moral victories mean absolute shit. Unless it's the Raiders, because otherwise, I'd have absolutely nothing to cheer for.

At least they made it respectable :lmao

Man what an ass-whooping. This Laker team is way too bi-polar.

One minute they look like World Champs, the next like the fucking Clippers

The Lakers *should* win game five and six. Good God. It would be embarrassing for them if it went seven. Put it this way, if Kobe and Gasol went down, I would put my head in a oven if my high seeded playoff team got a beatdown like the Lakers did the other night. Hey Lakers: drive to the basket! Post up your two seven footers! Pick and roll defense! Look into it. If they aren't complete idiots they should win games five and six by double digits.

Gino

I dont think anyone will say this has been a great series.

Its been embarrassing for the Lakers.

Yet again, they show what mental midgets they are when they cant defeat a Yao-less, McGrady-less Rockets team.

They'll win the series and will probably win the title, but only because of a down year in terms of competition.

IronMexican
05-12-2009, 06:20 PM
It's been nothing but "down year's" since 2006.

Have you ever heard the phrase "the final margin of victory is not indicative of how the game truly went?"

And that 2000 team that got blown out in that game 5 had more mental toughness than this team seems to have.

You guys were down 29 going into the fourth.

You guys were playing Gasol and Kobe against the scrubs of the current Houston Rockets, who is filled with mostly second tier players. In other words, the "scrubs" of "scrubs"

Jacko

Obviously the Rockets played well and won the game handily. But ass-kicking of epic proportions it was not. Now when DEN blew NOH by like 50+ pts THAT was an ass kicking of epic proportions. That's all I'm saying.

99% of fans could only dream that their "down" years involve only missing the playoffs once and then making the Finals four years later. The standard by which the Lakers are judged is significantly above where it is for any other team in the NBA.

Adleman will make his adjustments after the beatdown tonight. He's going to go with heavy minutes for Landry and Barry because they were the only two players who showed up in game 5. At least I hope he doesn't go with the cold shooting unit.
