Schertz, just NE of SA up I35 has just opened a new wal mart there. I grew up in Schertz during my high school days and back when I was a sophomore and freshman(2000) there was still plenty of open land and fields and Clemens HS was still somewhat of a small, country type school even though they had just been moved into Class 5A. Well, since then major road expansions have occured and stores and neighborhoods have been popping up everywhere. As I was driving down FM 3009 this afternoon and it took 30 minutes to get about 3 miles due to heavy, heavy traffic and a couple of minor accidents, I guess it finally hit me. The days of Schertz/Cibolo being a small, quiet suburb of SA are over. Traffic and Bussinesses and an array of people are now there. I am glad for the development, but in a way, its kind of sad to see another small town be built into what is essentially an extension of SA. Just my 2 cents.

Oh yea, the HEB and Wal Mart in Schertz are right across the highway from eachother and they were having a gas price war today. HEB and Walmart were both selling gas at like 1.82 this afternoon.

FM 3009?

Why not just call it by it name; Roy Richard Drive. or Richard Dr.

Because that's the name for roughly 2.75 miles, from I35 to FM78. On the other side of 35, all the way to highway 46 (prob 10-15 miles), it's called Natural Bridge Caverns road. To avoid confusion, most people call it three double oh nine, as TX3rd mentioned.

A friend of mine used to own a percentage of a BBQ restaurant there called the "Smoke Pit". Is it still there? Good barbecue.
