IDK, if you're comfortable stealing...
I'd just go with openoffice.

edit: your second post appeared in the interim, so nevermind.

Actually, now that I think about it doesn't Openoffice have a feature where you can save the file as a Word file? That'll probably get the job done.

Yeah, there are at least 3 .doc options and 1 .xml option for Word (older versions, of course).

Do you have the trial version? I was able to get through the trial version in about thirty minutes by just searching on google.

Are you a student?? If so you can go to ultimatesteal.com and you can get the MS Office ultimate edition for only 60 bucks. Oh and it's legal, you are buying it from Microsoft.

Anyone who goes to a Spurs website looking for Microsoft Office is probably to stupid to use Office in the first place.

As for stealing why not call out KBR for charging the Military 40.00 dollars for a six pack of cokes in Iraq. Not cokes made in the USA but in Iraq.

No dumbass, that's not at all what I meant. If you want a word processor, OpenOffice's is better, free, and open source. If you want a DBMS, mySQL absolutely murders Access, and is free and open source. If you're going to spend money for a DBMS, get something powerful like Oracle. If you want an email client, Mozilla Thunderbird doesn't have anything approaching the security problems Outlook is world famous for. But hey, stick with Outlook if you want douchebags from Russia and China stealing your credit card numbers. I said no one should spend $350 on it because their software is crap, and is ridiculously overpriced.

I mean, three times as much for a fucking word processor as for computer games that take 5-7 years to make and have ridiculous development and QA costs to produce? A word processor is not hard to write and anyone paying $165 for one is getting raped.

OpenOffice isn't perfect, but it's pretty good. And free.

Serious question: Why do people request documents - to be read - in a format like Word .doc? Why not .pdf? Do they need to edit your résumés for some reason?

Recruiters do need a Word version of resumes in order to remove the contact info of their candidates (and usually put their staffing company's logo instead) before submitting them to the clients/project managers.
Recruiters negotiate the salary with the candidates,to avoid that the clients/Pm's contact the applicants directly
