It's totally different; you really can't compare

Actually, A&D was written before DVC

Good. I read Da Vinci and liked it enough I guess. I've had A&D on my shelf for years and have never read it, but I've been eyeing it up in recent days due to all the hype for the movie.

After I read the book, I might check out the movie at some point, but probably not until it hits HBO.

Truly awful. But damn if the man doesn't know how to use a plot device to his advantage. And sometimes, it's nice to be able to read without having to think... if you can stomach the utterly pedestrian characters and verbiage. I can.

So is a prequel or sequel. I'm confused.

The book was written before The DaVinci Code and made a small splash. TDC wasn't a sequel per se, just the next in a series (the third in the series is underway, apparently).

I haven't seen or heard how they treated it in the movie, as a prequel or events that take place after the events of TDC.

The review above about Dan Brown is a pretty good one. It's light and fluffy, moderately intriguing while being very fast-paced and enjoyable. Hardcore literary genius? Hell no. Easy beach read? Yep.

I doubt that I will be watching. The Davinci Code was one of the only moveiws that I've ever watched that I literally had to turn off and take a break. IT was that boring.

TDC book was a great read. I was disappointed in the movie.

But... the Book is always better that the Movie, at least in my experience.

hanks in the pool with hair plugs approached cage in awesome hairline-ness. i still think this would have been better called Catholic/Vatican Treasure with the cast of National Treasure.

Nice. :tu

I would imagine something like that has been discussed.
