Interested to see what people think of Harangody. He won't return to ND, considering their program is in shambles. Is he worth a shot with one of the latter second-rounders? Hard to ignore that kind of production in college, regardless of his physical limitations.

well, if Harangody measured 2 1/2 '' taller (like Bonner), he might be a 1st round bubble. he is tougher, stronger and likely also smarter than Bonner.
(btw. Harangody has a slightly better wingspan and standing reach than Bonner)
if the Spurs take him with one of their later picks and therefore get rid of Matt, hell yes, do it.

ND's program is no national force, but it's hardly in shambles. The Irish have two impact transfers who will be eligible next season in SF Scott Martin (Purdue) and SG Ben Hansbrough (Miss. St., Tyler's brother), as well as one of the Big East's top returning PG's in Tory Jackson. Harangody has made it clear that his intent is to return to ND unless he has a reasonable chance of being selected in the first round (or very, very early 2nd round), which clearly isn't going to happen. Anything is possible, but the odds of him staying in the draft are - at this point - very slim.

Not even close. Harangody is 6-6 and has no 3-pt range at this point. On the flip side, Bonner has no semblence of the back-to-the-basket game, offensive versatility and rebounding efficiency that Harangody brings to the table (at least at the college level). About the only thing these two players have in common is that neither could so much as leap over a dictionary.

I am sure Harangody will bring a post-up game to the NBA. I think not.
As far as Bonner goes you can knock him all you want but he was more effective at driving the ball to the hoop (and actually hitting a shot) than Mason and Finley were this year. Bonner was simply asked to play a bigger role than he was equipped to handle.

Something tells me that he is going to be one of those second round picks that does well despite all the critics. Work ethic and strength are always valuable tools. He does not remind me of Bonner at all. I see him more as a young Najera, relentless, and will knock you on your ass. If I am not mistaken he was the strongest player in Chicago.
