SG Von Wafer of the Houston Rockets will be a free agent next year.
So...would you trade Roger Mason for Von Wafer?
I Say YES.
Wafer can shoot the three almost as good as Mason, but he can also get his own shot off the dribble, and he can drive it to the hole pretty well. He's also 5 years younger than Mason.I think he can help give us the spark that we need.
SO WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK.

No, Mason is better, even if he is older. I have respect for mason, and believe he can be and is a good part of our team. No need to trade him

Uh...couldn't we just sign Von Wafer if he's a FA and have them both?

Personally, I'd just assume give Hairston some burn. He'll cost less, he's a better defender, and he brings surprising athleticism. Of course Von Wafer's the better offensive player, but I don't think Hairston's a complete wash there just because his jumper needs work.

You're either 2 things.
Mentally retarded or a Rocket troll.
Probably both.

i would welcome vafer but not for 3.8 mil or however much mason makes. why not just try and sign up as a FA and if it doesnt work out then screw it.

Popovich will not tolerate him. He is huge ball hog and very selfish and is stupid. Sure he is much much better than Mason in talent but he is the exact kind of player Popovich hates.

Wafer is a dumbass, and frankly, I could die a happy man without ever having a player that sports one of those stupid ass "fade mohawks" on our roster.

We wouldn't trade him for Roger Mason even though it may be a brains vs brawn contest. Wafer is talented and selfish but as long as he comes off the bench as a spark in limited minutes he's efficient and valuable.

Yes exactly. I mean a coach like Adelman can handle him but not Popovich.

Why trade for him?...Wafer is a free-agent. and I don't see the Rockets giving him a decent contract. Even though I thnk he deserves it?..I think the Spurs could offer him more, just my opinion!!!...:lobt::lobt::lobt::lobt::lobt2::flag:

I would like to give Mason another chance without the pressure of Pop trying to make him into a PG. He's was pretty damn good up until that FAILED experiment. Let him be himself as a Shooting Guard and I think we'll see the Roger Mason that was helping the Spurs and not the one who looked like a deer caught in the headlights of a Monster Truck!!!
JMHO of course.

I don't think so...I only like Nila Wafers...and Roger Mason has more talent and upside as long as you don't make him dribble aka play PG...POP!
Ummmm, yum, yum...nilla vanilla wafers and milk...uuuuhmmm good!
Von Wafer is a bonehead.
But he is also way better than mason. If only Von could learn the proper attitude!

Ridiculous - Anybody that gets their hair cut like Ron Artest has already failed - I think Mason will be much improved next year, but Pop has to keep him away from the PG spot

NO. If Wafer was sent to the locker room for arguing with Adelman, he'll do the same with Pop because Pop has weird rotations that Wafer will not be apart of at times.
noob cake

Wafer is atheletic, semi-talented, but incredibly stupid.

No way. Mason's way better and Spurs could get better than Wafer for him anyways

I don't think we have the time to develop him into an useful player. That might take 2 or 3 years. And after his last tantrum, I'm wondering if he would last that long with Pop.

Von Wafer is a moron ... argues with a HOF coach over pt ... not saying HOF coaches don't make mistakes but Adelman's resume as a coach should've shut up Wafer , whose resume as an NBA player isn't very eye-catching ...

Huh? Say what? You smokin' something the DEA would be interested in? Mason's stats are better than Nilla Wafer's in ppg, rpg, apg
R. Mason: 11.8 ppg/ 3.1 rpg/ 2.1 apg
V. Wafer: 9.7 ppg/ 1.8 rpg/ 1.1 apg
Mason has no attitude problem and is definitely not a bonehead.. Before Pop experimented with Mason playing the Point, Mason was Cool Hand Luke, hitting winning shot after winning shot. They are both the same size and were 2nd round picks.
We'll stick with Roger and you guys can keep Wafer.

Von Wafer would probably be looking for a more expensive and longer contract.
Maybe the Spurs FO can offer something just to increase his asking price? :hat

So Mase dribbling equates automatically to him running the point?

I would do that trade any day and every day 365 days of the year. Von Wafer sucks and I'd rather have Mason at shooting guard instead of Von and I bet Morey would too. So lets go talk to Holt and get him to make that trade. Oh and by the way, since Mensu-Bonsu is a free agent, lets get him too.
Then it'll be thank you Spurs for Mensu-Bonsu, Mason and Scola :toast
