Shaq is taking a journalism course at he said this at the end of this NY Times article:

"I love guys who know what they’re talking about. I can’t understand how Skip Bayless can make a comment about Tim Duncan. My question is, How do you know?”

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/05/20/sports/basketball/20shaq.html

What exactly does it mean?

I didn't read the article, but it looks like he's just using Duncan as an example..it's more of a shot at Bayless from that quote..

I don't know why Shaq is so hated on this forum..he shows Duncan more love than he shows any other player in the league, and he hates Kobe..what more can we Spurs fans currently ask for from him?:lol

I think it had to do with Skip having the 'HOTS' for Jason Kidd. Seems Skip can't understand why Kidd has never been voted the MVP award.

He's a sore loser who had to resort to lying when he couldn't beat Robinson.

Is this some sort of sucking up to the Spurs? Well, if you can't beat 'em, join em...

I'll take Shaq on my team!

I would have to see what Skip actually said about Tim Duncan to fully understand what Shaq is talking about.

And I'm sure a lot of people saw how Tony and Shaq played together during the All-Star...I know it doesn't matter but still there was something there..

Lets get real, this will not happen.

I think the outlandish idea that Shaq can mature enough and take a huge pay cut to sign with the Spurs is quite appealing. How many other washed up stars sign with us and retire? This could be the biggest one yet, ha..ha..

It will not happen, for sure. But it would be cool though, I don't hate shaq.

What would his new SA nickname be? The Big Contract?

Wow!, they are really passing around the crack pipe at ST. LOL!.

Say what you want but a Shaq and Duncan combo one year deal (Grandpas vs the NBA) would be the talk of the NBA season. The media would go frickin ballistic.
Stern would have to change his Depends often. Pop would be borderline pschotic and possibly suicidal. Shaq on defense? LOL!

God almighty if it could have happened 10 years ago. The talk would be... can the Spurs catch Russell's Celtics. I'd have nightmares.

It would become one of the most historic trades in NBA history depending on the results.

It would be the "Last Hurrah" on two conditions Shaq's readiness and Tim's knees. Nevermind the contract and money issues which would depend on so many factors.

The Duncan reference is a shot at guys talking about stuff they don't know, nothing about Duncan himself.

Shaq does have respect for Duncan, but he also seems to have a need to get his fifth before Duncan does. He's said it several times in the past couple of years. Duncan seems to be on his mind, so it was his name he used.

Shaq in SA? Hmmm...I wouldn't immediately discount it. It would be entertaining, that's certain.

shaq will not come...he was just simply saying that timmy is a great role model for the game by playing the way he does in a professional matter and that he has the most respect for timmy

Shaq on the Spurs would be great 5 years ago but not now...Timmy and Shaq would make the slowest frontcourt in the NBA and that wouldnt be to fun to watch as a Spurs fan. Timmy needs a C/PF who can spread the court next to him.

He is entertaining as hell and cool as hell but doesnt make much basketball sense next to Timmy right now in this stage of their careers.

whats with all the pay cut talk in the NBA you cant take a pay-cut when under contract the only pay-cut would be if the Sun bought him out and he became a free agent. All in all that's still not a pay-cut

I think Shaq makes $20 million next season, so no way in hades.

As far as love/hate Shaq, he was disrespectful of The Admiral with an overall arrogant attitude. While he may have grown up since, I have a hard time warming to someone who acts like that.

Shaq would never work here at his age. Shaq is about Shaq first, and he would take lots of shots from Tim and Tony. Not to mention that he will never play for the MLE.
