The Spurs Fast Break 5k and Catch the Coyote one mile run/walk/roll was first brought to San Antonio by President of Spurs Basketball and Head Coach Gregg Popovich to increase awareness of recreation, fitness and education in the city. Race participants include able-bodied & disabled including competitive runners, walkers, families, active duty military as well as veterans.

The Spurs Foundation (http://www.nba.com/spurs/community/in_the_community.html) is committed to providing our community’s youth a variety of learning, recreational and fitness experiences that inspire positive, healthy and enriching choices and assist them in developing the skills necessary to become successful, responsible, contributing adults.

We warmly invite you to walk, run or roll with the 2009-10 Spurs team & coaching staff. Proceeds will benefit the recreational and educational programs (http://www.nba.com/spurs/community/parent_teacher_zone.html) of the Spurs Foundation. This race will also serve as the Celebration Race to those who have completed at least five Alamo Series races!
