The NBA tests through a Reasonable Cause Testing Program (if they think someone is on drugs) as well as Random Testing. They test for Marijuana, Drugs of Abuse (which includes coke and a bunch of other stuff), and steroids and other performance enhancing drugs.

If you want to read about the testing/treatment program, penalities, etc, it's all here: http://www.nbpa.com/cba_articles/article-XXXIII.php#section9

:rolleyes I'm sure they don't think very often that the stars players of the league are on drugs.

Haven't a lot of players (that never tested positive on their lives) adimitted to have smoke Marijuana?

I don't think it holds much water to speculate some NBA players are using dope, some of them do smoke marijuana though.

If you get caught for weed, I think they just recommend you get in a program. Not really as strict as the NFL or MLB.
