Real GM.

Van Gundy Implies That LeBron Gets Favorable Calls (http://basketball.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/59362/20090525/van_gundy_implies_that_lebron_gets_favorable_calls/)

After the Orlando Magic beat the Cleveland Cavaliers to go up 2-1 in the Eastern Conference Finals, Stan Van Gundy declined an opportunity to expressly state that LeBron James receives favorable calls from the referees.

Van Gundy said that doing so would cost him a league fine and give him a reputation as a whiner. But Van Gundy then seemed to encourage the media to write stories saying just that.

Dwight Howard fouled out on what appeared to be a clean block of James' three-point attempt in the closing seconds of Sunday's game.

Kind of hard to claim fixed on a night your team shoots 51 free throws.

The league must hate the VG brothers for the way they constantly call out the league for their epic amounts of BS.

League is going to be embarrassed by that fouling out of Dwight on a really bad call. They'll probably try to compensate by giving some calls to the Magic in game 4; which doesn't bode well for the Cavs.

Superstars should never foul out...and to get fouled out on a bad call just adds insult to injury.

I figure if anyone is dumb enough to do it...it's Stan. The guy is, after all, bitching about calls after a win.

Did you watch the game? They were employing the Hack a Dwight in the 4th. Even Mo admitted so during the post game comments.

Stan is smarter than his brother Jeff. At least Stan is not going to pick up a 100,000 dollar fine.

Bitch about calls? What did he say to complain?

It was funny during the coaches interview during the game when Stan said "every time he dribbles he gets a foul, so it's kinda hard to defend him" or something along those lines.

LeBron did get a lot of charitable calls.

Even if it was after a win and after his team shot 51 FT's he deserves the right to complain about some of those LBJ calls. His best player fouled out on what could be called one of the worst calls in NBA history, he should be able to complain all he wants, he really didn't complain, he just hinted at the horrible calls LBJ got in his favor.

Van Gundy doesn't have to say much of anything about the officiating, he's got a mouthpiece named Charles Barkley doing all his talking.

And I got to give props to Chuckster for telling it like it is.. that certain refs have simply been terrible this year. Half of the staff should be fired outright, and have no business reffing at the local YMCA much less the NBA.
