It's amazing, so amazing, how ESPN stays on Kobe's dick......Kobe has gotten away with alot of bullshit in the past, and he is getting his just due. That trip was not as dirty as an elbow to the throat

Funny how they label Jones' move "dirty" within seconds of the replay, yet when Fish-fuck shoves his elbow into Luis' Scola's sternum Fisher was just "sending a message" and "always known to be a hard-nosed player"

Fuck the Lakers. Too bad Kobe didn't break his ankle

Fuck Kobe Bryant and the Lakers, they get away with so much.

Jones was tired out there and that was sloppy defense, it was instinct since he was too tired/fatigued to shuffle his feet, he just tripped him, it was wrong. Completely wrong but it wasn't pre planned before the game that he was going to do that. He was exhausted and didnt shuffle his feet, got beat and his mind out of instinct told him to raise his foot and tripped him. it was out of fatigue. it was wrong but Laker fans make it seem like he should be suspended for life.

Just turn it on Kobe tripping someone and all would say, "that was a smart veteran move by a superstar"

Like mentioned by others, when the Lakers do dirty shit, its always, "THATS PART OF THE GAME" "HE IS A VETERAN"

Shut the fuck up with that b.s.

Kobe pulls shorts and pushes off all the fucking time.

It's like the media all over Obama, he can never do wrong but when a Democrat does something wrong, "oh its Bush's fault" ,

same shit with the TV networks and Kobe/Lakers. All they care about is top TV markets because it's their bread and butter.

Fuck the Lakers and their bitchy neurotic fans and paid off broadcasters.

Im sure, when the Lakers lose a game, LAPD is busy answering a bunch of domestic violence reports.

Kobe is a superstar and he will always be able to get away with shit that scrubs cannot. The same goes for Lebron, Wade, etc. That's just how the league is these days, you can thank MJ.

Jones is going to get suspended. He will get suspended because of his prior flagrant, he was extremely stupid to trip Kobe like that. The NBA will make him pay.

^Exactly.

He has now put his team at a disadvantage for Game 5 as they no longer have an extra 5 fouls to throw at Kobe. Which means either Kleiza, Smith, or Melo will have to guard Kobe. Smith and Melo can't afford to get into F/T.

That crew is so in the bag for Kobe and the Lakers it's frightening. They said that Bynum's flagrant on Andersen wasn't a flagrant because Bynum touched the ball. :lol

For the uninformed: Nowhere in the definition of flagrant fouls does it say anything about going after the ball.

Will prove to be a dumb move if Jones gets suspended. He's been an X-factor for the Nuggets off the bench, and with they way they have been handing out suspensions this postseason, I would not want to draw the ire of the refs.

That being said, I don't think it's worth a suspension. People get tripped in basketball all the time. The fact that he did it so blatantly intentionally is the only fuel to fire. If Bruce Bowen pulled a stunt like that, Stern would have his head on a stake.

Jacko
05-26-2009, 09:59 AM
Phil Jackson has every right to stand up and defend his players. Wouldn't you if you were head coach?

The move itself IS definitely worthy of a suspension. Purposefully tripping someone who is making a move to the basket could seriously injure them and put them out of the playoffs. You just can't let that stuff slide, however minor the damage may have been. What if Kobe had twisted his ankle and was unable to play for Game 5....would you be saying the same thing?

Ankles could get twisted at any moment on the basketball court. People get tripped up all the time. I agree that it was dirty and uncalled for, but it was still just a flagrant foul. It was a foul that wasn't a play on the ball. Smith got his flagrant 1, Lakers got their shots and the ball, and life goes on.

Save the suspensions for when elbows and fists start getting thrown.

I agree the move is worthy of a flagrant foul and not a suspension. I said it would result in his suspension because he got a Flagrant 1 for pushing Kobe in the back the prior game.

I believe even Byron Scott was upset at Jone's dirty play in the 1st round.

I think for a player to get the suspension, he has to draw two Flagrant 1s in the same game (or a Flangrant 2). Could be wrong.

Either way, Dahntay Jones is still a punk, but I'd rather see the teams go at it at full strength.

Who knows it may help the Nuggets as Kleiza and Smith get more minutes.

Or it could backfire, especially if Smith draws early foul trouble and they are left trying to play Carter or some other undersized guard on Kobe.

Kobe and Bowen do thier "dirty tricks" while battling for position etc. Jones does it when he is already gotten beat and does it out of frustration. Theres a big difference.

Even AI9 said he was dirty in his twitter last night.

Funny how they label Jones' move "dirty" within seconds of the replay, yet when Fish-fuck shoves his elbow into Luis' Scola's sternum Fisher was just "sending a message" and "always known to be a hard-nosed player"

I don't recall any analysis of the Derek Fisher check into Scola as defending it from being dirty. It was pretty much agreed upon that it was dirty and deserved the flagrant and ejection (except by some unreasonable Laker fans). But, the comments that it was "sending a message" were to say the reason why he did something dirty, not justifying or defending it.

And, you'd have to be completely blind to not see that Dahntay Jones' trip wasn't dirty, particularly after seeing the replay where he obviously didn't have to stick his foot out. Moreover, Fisher got a flagrant and an ejection, while Jones didn't even get a foul.

And, any suggestion that Dahntay was just tired is bullshit. You don't trip a guy just because he beats you. Every single one of you would be pissed as fuck if it was a player on your team getting tripped like that.

That said, I don't think it deserves a suspension. Maybe a fine and an upgrade to a flagrant 1 or a technical. But, not a suspension.
