A Question for Dog owners

I seem to always inherit the rambunctious ones. I'm really having trouble keeping my dog in the yard. She jumps the fence and scares the neighbors. The only thing with success so far has been the chest harness, however she chews through the nylon ones. Has anyone seen similar harnesses made from chain...I mean besides the ones Rob Halford wears...for dogs? Tight linked liked choke collars, maybe?

We do walk her, it's just she's impulsive when she feels an intruder is near. Unfortunately that could be a squirrel, opossum, cat, another dog, one of the neighbors, a delivery person, an airplane, lightning... she hasn't attacked anything viciously. Well, maybe a bird and squirrel. Hell, maybe she thinks she's really a big furry cat, I don't know.

Caesar makes me embarrassed to be a white man...he'd probably say the dog thinks she's in charge and I'm being a pinche gringo cara de mierda.

The harnesses fit around the dog in a manner that does not allow the dog to reach any part of the harness with their mouth. Is it possible that you are not putting it on correctly? I would worry about putting a link harness on your dog if you are not going to be there. When your dog jumps, every single link offers an opportunity for it to get caught on the fence. That could lead to a disastrous outcome.

Seriously though, when we got our Lab she could chew through a nylon leash in no time flat & using the collars that have a safety snap release lasted about 5 minutes. The harness was a god send for when I would walk her. As for keeping her from taking off (we live on a little over an acre, with no fence), we opted for the Petsafe Wireless Fence. There is a version you can bury if you need an oddly shaped perimeter. The wireless one gives you a maximum of 90 ft in every direction but you can adjust it to a smaller perimeter.
