That's actually how I got the job I have now... about 6 years ago I applied for this position knowing I wouldn't qualify at only 21. A year later, the staffing agency kept me on file and came to me for the position with the company I'm with now. I never would have gotten it had I not knowingly applied for something I wasn't qualified for. I'm more than qualified now, however... with the exception of actually having a degree :lol I've got most accounting courses completed and 8 years working experience with companies much bigger than SS&E... worth a shot I guess lol

No, kidding ... I interviewed for a similar position (the same one?) with them right before I got the current job I have. I don't know if this is the same one, but it also requires being at AT&T events AFTER THEY ARE OVER to close out ... concerts, sporting events ... whatever. And I'm assuming working in a cool place is supposed to compensate for the fact that they don't pay even close to the going rate. Holt's cheapness doesn't end at trades and acquisitions. :lol

Thanks, but coolness doesn't pay my mortgage. :lol :greedy

$18,000? Holy moly! I make more working for this crappy non-profit and will be getting help with my student loans come July 1st. You won't get that working somewhere cool like SS&E.

I hope you're joking! $18K is about half of what that position should pay.

That's not what it really is ... and they want a CPA or an MBA ... it should be 3X that much, even in San Antonio. :lol

That is not the real salary. Guess I need blue for sarcasm.

But for what they require for the position, I can assure you the pay is nowhere near the going rate for a CPA/MBA.

I know someone who left his job with the Spurs and he makes double the salary and works about 60% of the hours.

EXACTLY!!! As many of you know I worked for SS$E and the pay WAS A JOKE!!! The environment and fringe benefits is enough for the younger, more naive ones... When I was there the staff accountants were making somewhere along the lines of 23-24k.

Had a friend who worked for them as well, in accounting and/or finance somewhere...i know his pay was nothing to write home about. He took a job with the Miami Heat a while back for a lot more money. The higher ups make really good money, or so im told. Used to play poker with a guy who was a VP of something or other with the spurs, and i know he wasnt doing too bad.

Didn't know the pay was so shoddy... F that! Gonna have to pay at least $45K for that gig :greedy

One of my co-workers used to work for the Rockets. I'm not quite sure who he was referring to but I believe it was Cuttino Mobley (back when he was paired up with Stevie Franchise - lol) when he said that one of the players' check was so full of garnishments, that HE (the one working in the Org) was taking home more $$ than one of the stars :lmao
