But, 21 Blessings keeps missing (or is in denial) that the first time in 9 years the Spurs went out in the first round. I could see if they had a few first round flame outs in a row. But, no that didn't happen!!!
!
You keep missing the fact that your precious Spurs lost to an absolutely putrid Dallas team. Even the Riverwalk cringed when it happened.
The Spurs are fucking done. You don't come back from something like that. There is no 'next year' for the Spurs unless Pop wants to purposely tank for the #1 pick again, which is highly possible I guess since Manu and TP's ankles are made out of tissue paper.
They've got their eyes on the bigger trophy :hat

This Denver team has a lot of talent - but not a lot of basketball IQ. They beat themselves by their boneheaded mistakes and lack of self-discipline. How many stupid fouls did they commit? And how many techs were handed out - which gave the Lakers free points.
I really thought they could take the Lakers - but the team that showed up tonight is a totally different team than the one in games 1-4. And I don't think George Karl is a very good coach.

Yeah... Im sure as he drives to his Newport beach home, puts the bently away, tucks the kids in, tosses his weekly check of about 800,000 on desk, thinks about being back in the finals where he has won 3 times, his very next thought is what a failure he's become.
:lmao
lol actually Kobe will be thinking about all his past failures cause he has now lost two NBA finals in a row and choked in both of them. So he's going to want to win this one. I'd say that would be on his mind a little bit.

Credit the Lakers for stepping up. They present a lot of match up problems for most teams, but the Nuggets are more vulnerable than most. They still could have won the series, but they waste too many possessions with poor shot choices and are pretty soft up front. Nobody is going to outscore the Lakers. You have to be physical with them and slow it down. While the Nuggets have the personnel, they didn't have the discipline to carry out this strategy. They also got hardly any statistical advantage at the point guard position. You have to make the Lakers pay here to have any chance. I don't think the Cavs, or Magic have any better chance.
I do think the Magic have chance especially if they are hitting their 3's.
The Lakers don't defend the three-point shot well and that could cause some problems.

Put Tony Parker on the Nuggets this season (healthy) and the Nuggets finish no better than they did just now...

Just like Kobe's tissue paper ankle in 2005.

I don't think TP would have any interest on playing on that Nuggets team. I said I would take TP over Billups. I didn't say anything about TP on the Nuggets.
Mr Bigshot hasn't hit jack shit since the 2004 playoffs. I don't know how people call him clutch. I really like Billups, but every time I see him in the conference finals he usually misses those shots. I think people really need to stop calling him Mr Bigshot and start fresh.
Chauncey is a very good PG though and I still like him. He did a great job with the Nuggets.

Oh boy.....some people don't like facts.
But here we go....
The Spurs won 54 games this year and the toughest division in basketball....with the Big 3 missing significant time during the season. When they are healthy (that's your only legitimate point) the Spurs are still one of 5 best teams in the NBA. So to say they are done....is a little premature.
My point (which you still seem to miss or deny) it was the first time since 2000...the Spurs lost in the 1st round. That means the Spurs have gone deep into the playoffs (winning 3 championships) during that stretch.
1st round flame outs will happen to every good franchise...even the Lakers!
Whew!!!

Uh, I dont' know if you want to be so diplomatic to Laker Fan.
You got it backwards. Most Laker fans are idiots.
They're actually kind of like 21_Blessings more or less, and the few REGULAR Laker fans make them look more respectable than they are.

Some people don't like facts..I guess!!!
For example, the Lakers have 14 championships in their history. Even though as a Spurs fan...I don't like it...but it's a fact.
I can't change that...no matter how I feel about it.
I gave him a fact and he keeps adding his subjective truth to the discussion.

That may be true!!
But if they win another championship in the next year or two...would put them at 5 in a 11 or 12 year stretch.
I bet every franchise and their fans would take that every time.

I think getting the ball to Pau in the post and letting him pass the ball and initiate plays has really awoken this Lakers team the last couple of games. What do you think?

What a load of shit. Both Vujacic and Martin are fighting fucking AWAY from the ball and play...yet the ref calls a foul...on the Nuggets of course!
credibility...out the window.

credibility...out the window.
Seriously, Martin was clearly just holding Vujacic's leg and not allowing him to move for about a solid 8 seconds. It had to take Sasha actually trying to walk with his leg in a sleeper hold and falling to the ground for the ref to finally call it. Someone acting as if that wasn't a foul and that Denver got robbed on that call is probably the most pathetic officiating complaint I've ever heard, unbelievable.

If the Lakers aren't going to win this tonight they better be careful and at least keep it close. A blow-out by Denver will carry over to the next game regardless if it's at Staples. You really can't factor HCA with game 7's especially if the previous game was won outright. Player persona speaking, a team like Denver has the potential of "tuning-out HCA crowds. I really want to see the Lakeshow close this out. They need to.

What's your point?
Pop and Duncan have four titles together. Regardless how they got them!!!
Larry Bird has three championships and they were not in a row.
To me...this is one of the silliest criticism against a championship team. You didn't get them in a row. Oh boy!!
They still won multiple championships!! :bang
You are partially correct. Those Spurs teams that won all their championships were damn excellent, well coached teams. They dominated all thier series and won in a convincing manner HOWEVER; To solidify and cement greatness and above all domination, you have to at least win a back to back. I am not saying the Spurs couldn't do it because those Spurs teams were built to contend year in/year out but luck and destiny had something else to say about that which I know stinks. I, as a fan for that matter, view the Spurs as one of the great teams of this decade but that's the only time frame I am giving them. 10 years. One back-to-back would have cemented them firmly and I emphasize "firmly". So, yes, winning more than just "every other year" sometimes doesn't cut it for Mr. ESPN man. As a fan you'll take em no matter how you get em.

Good response.
But the issue wasn't that the Spurs is the greatest team or greatest dynasty ever......then I would say you are correct. Moreover, the Spurs have only stepped into the forefront as champions in the last 10 years. Just like the Chicago Bulls did in the 90's.
My point was multiple championships is multiple championships...regardless if you got them in a row or not.
It is like someone went to college and graduate in 4 years with honors and someone went to college and graduate in 5 or 6 years with honors. You both graduate from college with honors...and nothing can change that.
If you are really criticizing someone for not graduating college in 4 years even though they did graduate college the same way you did but a year or two later....then you have lost all perspective.
With that analogy......the point is both teams got the job done and history will state multiple championships!!!
