Anyone else see this and find it odd that the spurs are doing their homework on Blair or any lottery projected picks for that matter?

Blair said he interviewed with four teams Wednesday at the combine - the Bucks, San Antonio, Indiana and Toronto. The Raptors, who have the No. 9 pick, also are said to be extremely interested in Blair.

Bucks assistant general manager Jeff Weltman traveled to Bradenton, Fla., earlier this month to watch Blair and other prospects work out at the IMG Academy.

Blair confirmed he will work out for the Bucks in June, in addition to several other teams, including Indiana, Sacramento, Oklahoma City, Charlotte, New Jersey and Chicago.

What do they have to trade though? I could see the bucks wanting to move down, but only to clear cap room and they wouldnt want anyone other than parker or expirings back.

I do think Blairs toughness would be welcome though

A lottery pick would be hard. It would have to take Hill or Mason for sure, and probably a 1st rounder sometime later on. Maybe a package of Hill or Mason, an expiring contract, next years 1st rounder and this years 37th pick. Or I could be way off base.

It is not terribly surprising. If GM's are buying into the fact that this a weak draft, then even though you might not get a "typical lottery talent" in the lottery, some teams that could use upgrades such as the Spurs, might be able to move up for cheaper than normal.

Phila explained how there are a ton of pre-arranged trades worked out for a multitude of scenarios, so it would behoove the Spurs to engage in due diligence.

With the 16th and 26th picks in the first round, the Bulls could try to package those picks with current players as part of a larger deal to land a veteran power forward. They also could package those picks to try to move up should they badly want a player they believe could be drafted earlier.

Well yeah, but I never expected the Spurs to talk to top 10 players unless they knew they had a chance at said player.

Remember my speculation on the Spurs getting the 11th pick along with VC? I wonder if that is what is going on?

I still do not know how I would feel about that. You could kiss Mason and Hill goodbye and the 2010 plan. It would making getting a big extremely difficult unless NJ was throwing in Boone or something.

I don't think that Hill would be part of the trade anymore. I think Mason and our spare contracts would be traded so the Nets could get the salary dum for their 2010 FA.

Blair measured 6'5 1/4 barefeet, and 6'6 1/2 with shoes, so he'll have his challenges. He weighed 275 down from 315 in the season, supposedly the scouts like him.

The Spurs were really close to getting Vince Carter at the trade deadline. This trade didn't happen of course but it still might.

o yea thats right....it be interesting to see what happens....and lets say we did trade Mason/Fab/Bonner/Bowen and im guessing we are not going to resign udoka and vaughn....we are going to have a few open spots on our roster...u think we would move a couple of the guys up from the d league

I cannot see the Spurs going after VC. He does not fill a position of need and would ruin the 2010 plan. Sure, having VC start over Mason and allowing Manu to come off the bench would be an upgrade, but not enough imo.

I would not be terribly upset, but I would not be happy.
