Economic headlines off of Bloomberg...
Zoellick Calls Stimulus Measures `Sugar High,' Says Unemployment Will Rise
Economy in U.S. Shrank at 5.7% Rate in First Quarter, More Than Estimated
Bernanke's Bid to Revive U.S. Housing Scuttled by Rising Rates, Defaults
U.S. Consumer Confidence Rises to Highest Level Since September
So the economy is tanking but people feel better. I guess feeling better is all that really counts. I'm busting out the credit cards and doing me some shopping.:downspin:

I'm kind of wonder what are the "laurels" he was cautioning his Hollywood peeps not to rest on.
As far as I can tell, this administration hasn't made one single positive accomplishment on the economy.

You mean expect and change.
The first synonym listed in the online dictionary for the word, "hope" is "expectancy."

Well that might be true too but I was just referring to the "green shoots of recovery" phrase that they have been using. There are no green shoots.

I would. It would make me feel better if fewer americans were not going through life with their head up their ass.

No, I leave the Hope mantra to you. I'll just stick with reality. This summer will bring commercial foreclosures, a new round of residential foreclosures as Option ARMS/Alt-A loans reset. Hell, even prime fixed rate foreclosures have doubled.
Hey, but you have fun "Hopin" Chump.

The assumption seems to be that the Bush-Obama bailouts will work. What if they don't?

This is actually bad news for Obama, because people are going to get their hearts broken all over again when the inevitable happens and the economy nosedives.
You guys would prefer the US consumer confidence to be lower?
How is that any different from how the libs wanted everything to fail when Bush was in power?

Ok.

That you're an idiot? Yes, very much so.Nah, in your own economic situation and status as a consumer.
