Broussard was being intervied on ESPN News earlier in the day and stated that he felt the officiating in the Cavs/Magic series has been pretty bad as has the officiating overall in this year's playoffs. He cited Howard's early foul troubles as an example of the questionable calls/non-calls by the refs. Then he went in a totally different direction that caught me off guard.

1) Said that the travel call late in game 2 on LeBron was legit, but that they hadn't been calling that on him all season.

2) Said Howard clearly went straight up on the 3-point attempt by LeBron when Dwight went into to draw a foul, but that they usually gave LeBron those calls during the season.

It was strange to hear this from a respected basketball insider such as Chris because usually players/coaches/etc. just want the right calls to be made and can generally live with the rest.....even during times when in the heat of a moment in the game they are usually up in arms on a call that they can look back on in restropect as the right one; his statements just seemed to be going in the opposite direction. That consistency was more important than getting the actua call(s) right. In those cases, the only problem I see is that they didn't get the calls right early on. Unless the guy plays under a separate set of rules that are supposed to give him a free pass. Just found the comments interesting.
