Orlando Magic star Dwight Howard and Houston Rockets center Yao Ming will top Basketball Without Borders camps this year in China, Mexico and South Africa.

The National Basketball Association and world governing body FIBA announced Thursday that the development program aimed at improving health and education in areas worldwide would take place during the upcoming NBA off-season.

Yao and Dikembe Mutombo, the retired NBA star big man from the Democratic Republic of Congo, will be the feature attractions at the Asian camp in Beijing from July 30 to August 2.

Eduardo Najera of the New Jersey Nets will conduct the Mexico City camp in his homeland from August 6-9, joined by Atlanta's Al Horford and Philadelphia's Samuel Dalembert and Willie Green.

Howard and Beijing Olympic US gold medal teammates Chris Bosh and Carlos Boozer will be joined by Mutombo and NBA Slam Dunk champion Nate Robinson of the New York Knicks at Johannesburg, South Africa, from September 2-6.

Also at the South Africa camp will be Milwaukee's Luc Mbah A Moute from Cameroon, Charlotte's Vladimir Radmanovic from Serbia and Chicago's Joakim Noah and Tyrus Thomas.

Top teen players will train under NBA players and coaches at the South Africa camp for the seventh consecutive year in Johannesburg.

"Basketball without Borders helps us to grow the game of basketball and bring attention to important social issues that affect communities around the world," said Kathleen Behrens, NBA Executive Vice President for Social Responsibility and Player Programs.

"We know that by teaching the values of the game - teamwork, sportsmanship, hard work and healthy living - our current and former players and coaches can also make a lasting impact on communities in need."
