While I'm a fan of Pete Carroll's recruiting style and philosophy when it comes to playing time, you cannot deny the strength of what Urban Meyer is doing down in Gainesville. He has done a remarkable job on getting tons of great out-of-state recruits to bolster the talent-rich high schools of Florida he already commands over in-state rivals such as Florida State and the U. Can't really go wrong with either coach's ability to recruit and field competitive title contenders...

Carroll by far. Man USC is going to be sick this year.

Carrol seems to lose games to bad opponents every year, and will be on probabtion for the reggie bush incident, while Meyer seems to run a clean program.

Carroll for recruiting and Meyer for coaching.

Pretty much agree with this. Meyer has been successful at two other smaller schools without the big name of Florida to help him recruit. He did great at Bowling Green and Utah.

Carroll gets the best recruits year in and year out. While he does a great job with that, there's little evidence that he could do it at another school where recruiting and coaching would be much more challenging. USC and its tradition helps recruit itself.

That said, I don't think anyone can argue that both are great recruiters and great coaches, obviously. I just give a little more credit to Urban Meyer for being able to do it at smaller schools that don't recruit themselves.

It's great, because, you guys get 5 stars year in and year out, yet only have 1 championship to show for it. And that was against fucking oklahoma.

you guys are one regular season loss against a suck ass pac-10 team from being near Ohio State status.

And how has Texas been more successful than USC? They got 1 BCS title this decade, too. A lot less BCS wins, too.

Yeah plus Texas didn't have to go through a conference gauntlet of playing big time ESPN/USA Today Top 75 teams like Washington State & Stanford & Oregon State (whoops!)

Damn right. They had to play teams like Oklahoma, Texas Tech and Okie State. All those teams showed what they were really about in Bowl season. As much as I hate the SEC, they are clearly the best conference, far and away. Every year, the media tries to hype up all non SEC schools. 2007 it was the Pac 10, and 2008 it was the Big 12.

LOL bowl season is like an extended, glorified NBA All-Star Weekend. Most of the big schools who had NC hopes don't give a shit any more. USC wins because their bowl game is a home game every year.

i dont think anyone said that
I guess 2 is a lot less

everyone knows USC is a powerhouse and the computers love usc

we'll hear it again all year long
the computers love USC
I DONT KNOW WHAT IT IS BUT the "computers" love USC

but its kind of easy to make the rosebowl when you dont play a conference championship and the second best team is oregon

and you pay your best players and put their families in their own new house all bills paid and give them bullshit jobs
and your twins in the secondary have a dad who invented modern day steroids and tested them on his sons

There's powerhouses, and then there's powerhouses with a conference full of nothing but cupcakes and home bowl games.

Get it? Because the BCS is set up such that USC gets home bcs bowl games, rewarding their conference championship they earned without playing a conference championship game?

Well, cedric benson did have a 70 inch plasma tv he had to kick door to retrieve, that was back before every other household had a huge HD tv, so it was probably a 5 or 6 thousand dollar tv. I bet he got that tv through shenanigans.

Without Sanchez, I don't see it.

I do. They are hungry and sick on D. They have replaced Qbs in the past and did fine and I dont expect that to stop anytime soon. If they approach every game with focus, they will finish unbeaten and play in the national championship game this year.
