Ths Messiah crap was started by hate-radio and the Repugs during the campaign to mock the widespread enthusiasm Magik Negro was drawing.
The envious Repugs would have loved to have McLiar and pitbull bitch draw the same enthusiasm, but after 8 years of total malfeasance and bad will from dubya and dickhead, the only enthusiasm McLiar got was from a trivial, ineffective minority, the mouth-foaming Repug hate-and-fear mongers.

Maybe a Goa'uld, but not a God.
Go[a'ul]dhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goa'uld_characters_in_Stargate
Most Goa'uld pose as gods (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deity) to control slave armies and are considered evil, egocentric (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Egocentrism) megalomaniacs (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Narcissistic_personality_disorder) by those who do not worship them. The Goa'uld are extremely intelligent and have an aptitude for understanding, working with and using technology that is unmatched. They each have full access to their species' genetic memory (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genetic_memory) from the moment of birth, meaning that no Goa'uld has to learn how to work with any technological device; they 'know' how to do so innately.

There isn't enough news to fill up a 24 hour production cycle, so naturally there's a lot of news related improvisation and free association. In the sports context it is called *color commentary*...
Which sometimes makes the news too. Did you hear what so and so said?
It's the functional equivalent of gossip IMO, but it is also an autoerotic clutch: reporting embraces itself as news, and swells to fill in the mostly empty news cycle.

:lol I didn't know it was gonna bother you this much.
My political intake consists of about 95% conservative radio/Fox News and 5% MSNBC. I listen to Gallagher and Beck in the morning, I catch the first 30 minutes and last hour of Limbaugh / Dennis Prager, I try to listen to as much Medved as possible (he's my personal favorite, he's pretty fair and isn't afraid to criticize people who deserve it), some of Hannity when Medved is on commercial and if it's at night I'll listen to Dennis Miller or Michael Savage on KLUP.
I'll watch parts of the ED show every now and then... but only because Medved is a regular pundit and I like to hear him debate. Ed's voice and his constant ball sucking of Obama make him largely unwatchable otherwise.
I probably know the conservative talking points better than you do, but I can think independently and reject a lot of their view points on the basis of their ignorance... which is funny because that's the same ignorance they claim that liberals have. I don't say an opinion is bad because somebody told me so, I think an opinion is bad because I can use critical thinking to discern that for myself. When all the conservatives say the EXACT same thing on these boards which were said on conservative radio just a few hours before, it leaves me to come to the conclusion that that's where they get their ideas and thus the robot comment.

All this "Obama is God/the Messiah/the Chosen One/Anointed One" stuff is complete shit. People are going to see what they want to see. They have predefined explanations of things, so that when they see something, it automatically goes to a negative instead of actually being thought out.

They have predefined explanations of things, so that when they see something, it automatically goes to a negative instead of actually being thought out. The Obama/soter meme is not elaborated ex nihilo, as supported by your examples.
It is based on something, even if that something does not support the grotesque overreading of the point and the inane repetition of that misreading.
Your gloss that people react to politics more emotionally than rationally and reflectively, while overrelying on the false precision of cliches is apt, if also prosaic IMO.
I do agree with you that political disputes often have a sort of mechanical predictability wrt cliche. Personally, I am less concerned that this is an expression of stupidity than alarmed that so many otherwise *wise and reflective* people get sucked into it.

That's basically what I meant. I'm more concerned that people on both sides are letting others think for them... and it's all under the banner of "think for yourselves".
So think for yourselves as long as that thinking is like me. That's pointed mostly at the big 3 of Rush, Hannity, and Beck and somewhat towards Olbermann if just for his demonizing rants. The 2nd and 3rd tier conservatives, with the exception of Michael Savage, don't usually resort to that.

because for one, it's a team game. The Mavs shot something crazy like 70% in the first half so there is plenty of blame to go around.
The play was also the type of instinct play that Manu always tries to make. The Spurs have lived and died by the Manu, so him making a mistake like that is forgivable considering that he was a big reason for the title the year before and the year after.

No offense, but both of you just argued about gay sex for almost a full page of postings.
I don't care what side of the political fence you're on, that's some damn funny stuff right there. :lolNot that there's anything wrong with that. :lol
jman denied it even exists here. That I was making it all up, or something like that.
My own brief urged prevalence, based on the verbal traces to be found in*politics* alone. Everybody can decide for himself what to believe. IMO there are way too many ostensible*studs* talking about gay stuff. I just find it a little weird, and maybe a little sad, that this is an ongoing theme here.

I never denied it didn't exist. I was refuting your assertion that "sucking on balls" had been a common theme in this forum. It actually wasn't.
Slurping cock, and jizz popped up a bunch ... but no "sucking on balls". I was arguing against a technicality and knew I had solid standing so I went with it.

Strut your bulletin board glory for as long as it lasts jman. Life is long, the limelight, fleeting.
