Maybe, but it was uncalled for to push him from behind like that. Thats how people get injured.

no it wasn't ... Gasol was the one being disrespectful .... I wish he would have pushed him off the rim and broke his neck ending his career.

Well forget it, Howard shouldve put it away when they were up 3 with him at the line to make it a 4 or 5 point lead. And then the refs took over in OT not calling Kobe for an offensive foul on the elbow he threw. It's over now...

And I prayed and prayed and prayed before the series: " please please please SVG, tell Jameer he won't play in the Finals "

Well, he deep throated me

Yup...the last chance the Magic had was Howard's FTs...when he missed both of those, I knew it was over. I would have bet my left testicle that the Lakers would tie it. You KNEW they were gonna tie it. 14 missed FTs, including 5 in crunch time (3 by Hedo, 2 by DH). The Magic DID choke this game away. They could have tied the series 2-2 and had a decent shot at actually winning the :lobt:, but it's gonna be Lakers in 5. :toast

Yep - that about sums it up! I bet none of the Magic players get any sleep tonight - especially Howard and Hedo. They'll be thinking about all those missed freethrows and how they choked away this series.

What did y'all want Gasol to do? Game's not over; he wasn't trying to show Orlando up with that last dunk, he was getting two more points and got pushed in the back. I'd be pissed too getting fouled like that.

Uhm, he should be a professional knowing he was going to win and just dribbled it out. All the respect I've had for him since he's played just went out the window with that fucking play. He was the last person I actually liked on the Lakers, but fuck it.

Gasol is such a bitch. He should have dribbled it out at the end. I'm glad Pietrus jacked him.

This.

Oh shit, Pietrus with a closed fist hit on Pau, that's a suspension if it's reviewed by the league.

Kobe's elbow to Nelson's head looked pretty fucking intentional. Please suspend him too you cock sucking faggot.

seriously, Van Gundy should be fired for that. I took Pop for granted. Van Gundy's even worse.

I don't have a problem if Pietrus fouls Gasol there. But, he didn't just foul him. He didn't just push him in the back. He had two closed fists and pounded him with both in the back while Gasol was up in the air. Even then, I wouldn't have a huge, huge problem with it. But, then Pietrus talked shit after it.

Yes, Gasol is a bitch. But, it's more than understandable why he was upset at the foul.

Try Dwight and Hedo who couldn't make a FT when it mattered. They make 1 of the four they missed at the end and they win the game. Simple as that. Or you could blame Jameer for his mind-fuck leaving Fish to beat them like that.

The only game they've won in this series, Jameer got garbage minutes, and Alston who quarterbacked them through the entire EC playoff bracket, got the majority of the run.

There's a correlation there. A strong one. But Stan's got a hardon for Jameer like Pop does for Finley. So LA's going to win it.

Most people see the flashy dunks in transition and the big 3s from way downtown, but the #1 key to winning or losing a playoff game is FREE THROWS. The Lakers lost Game 3 because of MISSED FREE THROWS. The Magic lost Game 4 because of MISSED FREE THROWS. It's quite simple, really.

Seriously though, Jameer was a fuckup for much of the fourth and all of OT. The announcers gave him love for hitting Dwight on two wide open looks. Big whoop.

Outside of that he got torched defensively had three turnovers, and went brain dead defending the one guy on the court not named Kobe that they needed to worry about.

Please this shit is over. No fucking way the Magic beat LA 3 straight times after choking this one away. I think they are done Sunday.

Orlando could have really blown a chance here at a ring.

Game 5 - Magic win by 8-10

Game 6 - Lakers blowout

Lakers in 6.

There was two seconds left and no one on that half of the court except Pietrus. Pau could have dribbled out to the three point line and called it a night.

But that's the type of bitch move Pau has gone to ever since he got to LA when they were winning series. Glad someone called his bitch ass on it.

I did say he could have pulled it out. But, really, big fucking deal. Why do you commit (what should have been called) a flagrant foul on that dunk and risk suspension over it? Sure, it wasn't a classy move by Gasol. But it's not something to be upset over. Be upset at losing the game and getting down 3-1 in the NBA Finals. Again, it's stupid to be more worried about a dunk with a 5 point deficit in the final seconds.

It's not like is was predetermined that he was going to hit him like that. You must be the type that likes it up the ass. Petrius didn't want any of that shit.

Nice way to turn the discussion. Obviously no need to even respond to stupid shit. You're the one pussy hurt over the Gasol dunk.

They were both wrong in their actions, but like I said Gasol instigated it. It could have easily been avoided.

Anyone remember Manu is game 7 against the Pistons when he had a wide open fast break dunk and pulled the ball back out. I guess not.

I wanted Manu to take that guaranteed two. You don't screw around in the Finals, and especially not in an elimination game.

I actually wouldn't have minded the blowout loss and 2 OT losses if Alston was the starter and go to PG in the series, but it is so easy to see his impact on the game: from the flow of the offense, to the confidence of Howard, Hedo, and Lewis.

SVG you can't play mind games with the player that just lead you to victory the game before and lead your team to the Finals. The status quo has to remain constant unless a change is necessary such as the Heat putting Posey on Dirk the rest of the finals in '06.

Lakers have defending him down to a science. One big to hold arms up while guard comes in and strips. Easy-peasy. Watch Duncan....he keeps it up high and makes a quick move. Of course, TD had some nice college coaching and coaching from DRob. Howard needs to get some moves or learn how to shoot FT's.

the other problem is that it will probably take Alston 2 games before he regains his confidence again (even in game 2 when he got his normal minutes back he didn't play well, his shot was way off, but then returned to form in game 3). There in lies the problem, the Magic only have 1 to keep this series alive.

I already said I had no problem if Pietrus fouled Gasol on the dunk. Under no circumstances, in today's NBA, would I throw two closed fist punched and forearms to the back of a player while he's in the air. It's not being a tough guy. It's not helping your team. It could cost your team. Foul him for dunking the ball with 3 seconds left. Fine. But, what Pietrus did was stupid and it could cost his team.

And, no, if it were me, I wouldn't have been mad or upset at Gasol dunking the ball in that situation. I would be pissed that we just lost a game we should have won. I wouldn't worry about Gasol "rubbing it in" or "showing up my team." Not at all. I'd be worried about winning the Finals. Period.

they have a great chance of beating the Lakers, I just hope Nelson doesn't play, not only will that mess with the teams rotations, the team could lose rhythm trying to incorporate him back into the offense/defense.

I dont know how you guys are defending Piet's foul. He made no play on the ball, didnt even really push Gasol, he went double-fisty-tomahawk on his back. Gasol didnt even realize there was someone behind him. Let me remind you that Odom is already on back transplant list as soon as TMac signs the papers.

Would I foul there? sure. Would I be taking closed-fisted shots to a guys lower back when he's up in the air? Sure, if i wanted to hurt him.

I know that probably not that many of you will agree with me but this game tonight was the biggest single game chokejob in NBA Finals history. I'm sure some of you will say that game 3 of the 2006 Finals was the biggest chokejob courtesy of the Mavs but I have my reasons.

Reason #1
The Magic had everything going their way throughout the game. They had a double digit lead at one point and let's not forget that the Magic had a big advantage in free throw attempts.
Reason #2
The Magic were terrible at the FT line. I've never seen an all star player suck so much ass at the FT line in an NBA Finals game. If the Magic would have made half of the FT shots that they missed, they would have probably won the game in regulation.
Reason #3
The Lakers did not shoot a single free throw in the 4th quarter. When you shoot between 10 to 20 FTs in a quarter and your opponent shoots none, you have to take advantage.

Anyways, the Magic choked big time. The Magic will probably win game 5 because they have some pride left and the Lakers will close the series out in LA in game 6.
